Yes they were lol! The alternator is a little on the lower end from what I’d like to see but I have the original basic alternator. The TRD Offroad models have the higher output alternator that I’ll end up putting on just because I have a lot of things hooked up and running, pulling more voltage. But first I’m gonna look into the trans cooler kits, 200* and that was without a trailer or hauling a load and it’s only gonna get hotter down here

Yikes!:goingcrazy: That's definitely in the Red Zone. Saw one a while back with a built in fan too. Great for Stop 'n Go or in traffic. Just think how hot it would be loaded up. I'd look into it for sure.

Yep I’m looking at what some other people have done, the OE style cooler is very small so I’d go with a larger aftermarket cooler kit, see how much it helps then possibly install an electric fan controlled by a switch for the stop and go traffic. And when I do the cooler I’ll drop the pan, change the filter and new fluid and gasket while I’m at it. It’s only been 22k miles since the last time I serviced the trans

Part of the tow kit package comes heavy duty alternator too so there is that. Could get a nice upgrade there down the road to help.

I’ve installed those higher amp alternators on a couple customers tacos and referenced the voltage to my standard one, it does make a nice little difference

I placed an order today for a couple large sheets of Cool-It by Thermotec (sound deadening and heat barrier). I installed those on a customers barracuda floor pan to help with heat from the motor and headers and he said it made a huge difference. So I will be dropping my headliner, making templates and installing them on the roof of my cab to help fight this heat. I may drop the headliner this weekend, not too sure yet because I have to help tile a buddy’s bathroom.

But I will document the process with pics

That's a cool idea! I can tell it's easily 10-15° warmer in my cab this summer with the black roof.

Cant wait to see how it comes out!

I see what you did there:rofl:

I’ve read on a bunch of other places that using stuff like that under the headliner does make a noticeable difference and I’m willing to give it a go!

Might as well! I'm sure it will be an improvement over the stock tin foil roof.
