So looking for opinions here. Someone I work with is thinking about getting rid of their chevy tahoe (maybe something different but same idea) and is looking for a new car. They wanted a wrangler but with a budget of about 20k and with their ridiculous resale values its hard to get a good deal on one without crazy milage.

So what is a suv type vehicle that is "fun" but can be had for around 20k (used is most likely option here)? Worker is a female who isn't really into off roading, but her family of boys dirt bikes and love being outside, so 4 wheel is needed and some light tow abilities a plus.

Yeah you are 100% correct my friend. This is day 1 of the search, I think some expectations will be tempered in a day or two and there will be a middle ground found. Very reasonable people, but everyone gets excited car shopping

So $20k semi Offroad can tow and isn’t high on mileage.... I’d look for a 4th gen 4Runner to be honest. You might be able to squeeze and early 5th gen on that budget as well. So probably 2010-2013 maybe?

 

Also add can’t beleive the guys on the Tacoma forum are recommending tricked out lesbo Subaru’s....

Lane departure, intelligent cruise, auto braking...Plenty of front seat room and a good overall hvac/audio unit. Very nice. 10x more ergonomically comfortable than a manual transmission 2010 tacoma...
