Given I haven't even wheeled with the rack on and all I carry on the rack is tred, hi lift and tire no roof top I don't see how the bed could be splitting and I have total chaos stiffeners.

I'm curious is this just lack of consistency and even building? I know beds have been misaligned for others and the dealer told me they 'have a tolerance of about a half inch'

My driver's side is just shy of 5/16" gap vs 3/16" passenger side

Ok just saw that. If you’re really worried just use a ratchet strap across the two stiffeners to keep it together.

the thing is its not splitting from there.

If you look in the bed at where the stiffeners are you can see the bedsides moving away from that piece of metal.
That's why I'm wondering if this is just crappy manufacturing from toyota.

    There it is!

Only took 5 posts in this thread.

How about removing the stiffeners and reinstalling them? Could’ve been done incorrectly.

The stiffeners were installed when the truck was practically new and lined up perfect.

OP, mine is that bad. Maybe even worse. I have bed stiffeners as well. I wonder if the tailgate can be adjusted left and right? Eh, it is what it is.

Try using a come along hooked to a tree and to the tailgate latch on the offending bed side, and slowly pull it in a little, then reattach the bed stiffener.

The OP said that wasn’t the issue, but I can’t see what else it would be

2/16 of an inch difference is nothing really, now if it was a 2 million dollar Bugatti I would complain.

And the come-along fix I mentioned will fix the tiny gap.

Not overly concerned. Just never noticed it and wasn't sure if this was typical like the misaligned bed. Given one of the guys I wheel with had his bed split I'm just being cautious .
