With a 6 speed, if u have a mesh grill, u will NEED the splash shield even in dry climates... something about putting in the clutch at highway speed stalls the truck unless the grill is oem, or u have the steel splash shield. Reasoning....i cant recall exactly, but its WELL KNOWN on xru.

Keep ur ears open... i had a leak at the maf seat. At part throttle it whistled... also let in minute amount of water when it rained regardless of any sock cover due to the meaf seating being an issue. Using the plug and play connection only made this worse for me.
Either the maf was bolted down, and then id try to plug it in and it wouldnt fully connect (worked, but didnt click into place), or id make the connection first and the id try to bolt the maf sensor down and it wouldnt be flush.

This was odd.... even when i used my hardwired maf sensor ,(from the much older urd model), it still would not seal right. This caused the truck to fall on its face for a second when water hit the maf sensor... not fun or safe merging, passing (even slow) on the highway... sometime it wasnt even raining, but the spray from a semi would cause the hiccup.

Ymmv, juzt keep ur ears and eyes tuned.

mine is on the brake resivoir bracket. I dont know if its correct or not. If I hadn't spend a couple days making my solenoid and catch can mount there I'd move it.

Got my temp gauge hooked up to my s/c water line tonight. In the next couple days I'm going to swap to water wetter and distilled. Just to get some real #s. Cheap experiment that might be useful info.

Ahh. Maybe a different install for a different year truck. @crashnburn80 also has a 15 with dealer installed s/c. His is like mine. Except they used a 90* fitting it didnt need.

    Please has on camera?

I checked a few intakes with ultragauge and scangauge... i was surprised to see that oem, k&n (rlly), urd and afe stage 2 si all draw the same air temps at approx 40mph.

Its not uncommon for others to call bs.... i didnt record it, my mistake. I know the truth, and im not buying all those intakes again to prove it.

Will do. If it dropped temp 15% would you change coolant? One bottle of water wetter would do a few systems btw.

The Off Road models have an electric brake booster pump while the others have a vacuum brake booster. Vacuum booster models have the bracket mounted to fender and OR models have a different bracket mounted to the electric brake booster assembly.

That’s only for models with A-TRAC. Not all OR before 2009 had A-TRAC. I have an 06 and it’s an OR with the vacuum booster

First day with my temp sensor on my s/c coolant line. I'm impressed with the intercooler. Idling in gridlock traffic it never got more than 10* above outside temp. The very few times I got on it temps jumped quick but dropped back down fast too. Sensor is next to the resivoir delivery line btw.

Next test is water wetter and no glycol. Then maybe a Johnson pump.
