I miss my manual 2010. If it came off offensive I apologize! The only thing I didn’t like bout the crossteck (like you said however you spell it) is it seemed underpowered. And Subaru as a whole has agitated me with the CVT transmissions. I hate those things with a passion. Other than that they are really solid cars and you see a lot of older ones still on the road so shows with the build quality.
I like a certain amount of tech in my cars, to me after a point it becomes tad overbearing and does increase the cost of the vehicles or they cut costs someplace else

I think if we could find a 4runner in her price range that was in decent shape we might be able to get her into one.

I'll send her the pic @DrFunker posted and see if I can't convincer her

I second the 4runner. You can certainly get into a nice 4th or 5th gen for 20k and it should fit the bill well. Can tow lightly, 4WD, offroad capable and I think mine is cool so they must be cool haha.

@Bridge4 - where is your friend located?

My wife has a 2010 Forester XT. That car is quick and fun to drive. Basically a WRX wrapped in a Forester. Catches many by surprise.

Berkshire county, but I already talked to her and she is willing to drive a little for a good deal.

Just sent her that link. She drove my wifes 4runner and was saying how small it felt, but anything will feel small coming from a tahoe type. I told her to drive it again tomorrow and give it a second look. I think a 4 runner would be perfect for her family and the style she wants.

HA! No offense ever :) I was having fun with it. There was a free subaru night tonight at the Mendon Drive In and we were joking about what THAT crowd would be....As far as the power goes you 100% have to turn off the A/C to pass anyone on a hill...But it does have the paddle shifters you can go down to 3rd for quick power. I think most drivers forget they have those.

When I was looking at older 4runners a few years ago, Greenfield Toyota had good pricing. They have an 08 with 110k on the clock for 13k right now. How low milage does she want? Most people get scared of 110k miles haha

My wife drive a Durango and loves it. Decent suv with a smaller body but huge interior. One of the few remaining with third row seating.

Anyone ever attempted the Death Race before? Highly considering signing up for 2019 Summer Death Race.

Ultra was tough but was not close to the breaking point. Going to do a 24hr hurricane heat to prep but I don't think that'll be overly difficult. 72 hours though, that sounds like a challenge

Do you ever listen to Cameron Hanes on podcast? He has a done a few ultra races and talks about hallucinating in the later stages of the race. Sounds insane to me

    Good morning everyone,

For those who go into Boston, just a reminder...... the Comm Ave bridge is being dismantled starting today into the weekend. It gonna suck getting through there.

I've been waiting all week so I can finally mow. Was weed whacking in the rain for about two hours yesterday. That said, I haven't had to water at all this week and the spots that were starting to go dormant have popped back!
