Seriously I'm just learning how to work on this thing.
Today I replaced the sway bar bushings. I've been searching for the cause of a loud rattle and clank from the front end when traveling on any bump road. The cause wasn't those bushings, ha ha. But, I did find the source of my trouble. The lower u-joints on the steering column shaft are worn AF. I can make them rattle by giving them a gentle shake. I don't really have the cash to solve this atm, but, I always prefer to know the source of a problem even if I'm not going to fix it ASAP. Know what I mean?

Anyone else deal with a lot of front end noise? Other symptoms include loose steering, which I've kind of mitigated in a really unprofessional way... :D

I have steering column noise to but mine sounds like it comes from right behind the steering wheel :(

I changed the rear diff oil and did the rear diff breather mod. Also started the installation of my light bar wiring harness.

Yeah so if you want to take a look it's easy. You get below the steering wheel and remove the five plastic bolts objects that hold the plastic barrier around the steering column. Once you do you'll see a set of U-Joints there, too. My steering was super, super loose, so I jammed a few paper clips in between the cylinders... hard to explain. I didn't modify the U joints, but I decreased the space between fittings. It tightened up the steering a lot. Maybe you have some noise coming from there as well...

    here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/steering-column-fix.88077/

That guy was able to use a zip-tie but I couldn't get one through without it bending, paper clips did it. ha. ha

Yea I’ve seen that but it’s not coming from the u joints aka rag joint

I learned the hard way that is what's necessary, after my divorce. Now my new gal loves everything I'm doing for her. She gets new Method shoes tomorrow!

Wasn’t the point of my post, he said he got TRD sport stickers but they say off road. Not ragging on the guy, simply making a statement of my observation.

Can someone tell me why Toyota decided to discontinue the production of the TRD super charger? Now we have even less alternatives to an already limited powertrapow platform.

I would guess mainly because Toyota was no longer going to be building the engine it was designed for any longer and I am also guessing that at about $5K not a lot of people were buying it.

I think it looks good with. I like the looks of those wheels. Are they the Texas Editions?

Pull the skin off the inside of the tailgate and push that minor dent out. Might help to heat it some.
