There's literally no comparing it to a soft shell tent, and at this group buy price, no reason to consider a dinosaur of a soft shell imo. All your gear stays in there, ready for when you want a comfy place to sleep.

Just realized i have an inside picture...I'm 6ft and it is plenty big.
    0707181418_HDR.jpg

An additional perk if you have it over the bed... It makes for a good shaded cooking, sitting, whatever area.

Did you buy that net on the roof or does it come with it?

Comes with it as Chandler said. There is also a 3-pocket whatchyamajammer on both sides of the tent that can hold other items...flashlight, books, etc. Along with a few hooks on the ceiling.

This one does, think it was a first or second round group buy. If they don't anymore or if the existing ones get worn out... Pipe insulation from your local hardware store along with a few zip ties and you'll be good to go again.

They stopped sending tents with them, I suspect its because the fabric gets caught up in the arm and why they moved to foam going over the arm instead.

Seriously thinking about selling my big ass Tepui and going this route. As much as I’d love a GFC, it ain’t gonna happen anytime soon, if ever.

Also, @Coop68 might let me scope his out if I ask him nicely...

pretty much that would be my reasoning for having it plus shade I like how it goes through the awning granted idk if you can stop before that opening and use it as just an awning or if you have to go all the way out and have a hole in the middle I saw one at FJ summit last weekend and got me thinking. but did not ask enough questions at the time.

Once again, certified for high elevation, cool temps and wind... 13k ft, temps likely in the 30s and wind on and off.
