Locally rich Asians don’t drive trucks. I have seen some Chinese and Koreans in Raptors only

Raptor is a fashion statement first. It’s got a strangle hold on the market

    And it’s drool worthy

I’m pretty sure the pentastar is the engine they have the least issues with it was the earlier JK engine that was pretty much a mini van car engine that gave them the most fits. I’m sure anything can break down on the trail. The only experience I have had with the pentastar was in a 2013 Ram. Mates with the 8 speed it was an amazing engine trans combo.

It is funny though, dodge/ram still battles their reputation with subpar transmissions from the 2nd/3rd gen trucks. A lot of people rave on Ford Chevy etc, when I was a Ram truck owner and keeping up with the forums for issues and TSBs etc like I do now with he Tacoma. There were a lot less issues on the forums with Rams than I have seen here. Anecdotal I guess, but I will say if I had spent a few weeks on the 3rd gen forums prior to purchase I may second guessed the purchase. I think Ram is underrated in the big truck world at the moment. But they don’t have the resale strength or high mileage reliability reputation although I would say the 5.7 Hemisphere is right up there with the Ford 5.0 with being able to put on tons of miles. Rams 6.4 will probably also join that club. The one I owned was pretty overbuilt as was a lot of the components on the HD truck

:woot::yay: Reminds me of my "kegs & kickball" party we used to throw annually.... Of course playing flip cup and then having a 4yo look down the table and say " I wanna play with granny" kinda slowed us down. Yes, my mother's team did win that round

I think you are precisely right. Part of it is also crossovers, manufacturers have done a great job marketing them and sedans are dying.

    HOWEVER....

    (and it's a big one)

Gas is pretty cheap right now. People also have a hilariously short term memory, 10 years ago I was a broke ass college kid putting $10 at a time into my Saturn, only making it work because the fucker got 40mpg.

The same guys who say " if you care about gas mileage buy a Prius, my expo rig gets 12mpg highway IDGAF" are the same ones who will be trying to sell their truck for "I know what it's worth" when gas is $4.50 a gallon.

I'm hoping to buy a cheap fuel efficient car when I have the space for it, hell I'll even keep it off the road until prices shoot back up.

I hear you. 11yrs ago, I was the only rider on the road in the winter here. Gas popped the $4 cherry and all of a sudden, I was seeing squids on sportbikes with backpacks in the rain. Hordes of them. And, the PoS H2s disappeared for a long time.

Yeah, $3.50/gal ($3.00 at Costco) seems cheap. We're only up $0.40 over last year, which was really cheap. But, I still bet that $4 gas will bring out the motorcycles again.

Even then, I'll still split the commute between the bike and the Taco. It is a joy to drive and I kind of done with wet bike commutes.

    Yes.

I am old enough to remember the 1979 oil crisis. I had an after school job working at the local gas station during rationing in NYC.

I so clearly remember a neighborhood guy rolling up to the pump with a tiny Japanese import. He got so much attention because his car was very mpg efficient.

As I remember it, that was like a turning point for (New York) people to really consider buying an imported Japanese car.

Within a few years after that, they were much more common. Fuel efficiency was the impetus, and low maintenance/ high quality sealed the deal in people's minds, imo.

If fuel prices become unstable again for any great length of time, it will just be the beginning of the end for the internal combustion engine.

Probably going to happen anyway once electric cars become a viable alternative.

When I was looking to buy it was between a GTI or Tacoma. Tacoma won, but I'd love to have GTI or R in the future. Lots of nice interior space and a blast to drive.

Gonna chance it and assume "beemaster" means you do something with bees lol... or you have a Superbee! Anyway, i took out two separate nests on my property tonight. The white guys got me yesterday (5X) while mowing and I noticed the yellow guys place of residence while eliminating the white guys. Pic...

Those are some nasty looking predators. Yellow jackets, hornets, and wasps are just mean and will eat honey bees for breakfast. They are aggressive and can sting multiple times. I hate them. Long live the “bees”. Yes I bee keep. It’s a hobby I took up 4 years ago. My father-in-law comes from a line of beekeepers. I found a honey bee in my pro grill yesterday. Wish it was a yellow jacket instead!

I truly am just an amateur bee keeper. 3 hives this year and I’m losing one as we speak. I just try to get them through the Winter. I really enjoy it but I have lots to learn. I’m on the Central Coast. A very short honey flow this year. Glad you keep bees. They love to work!
