Anyone know of a rotomolded cooler with latches like the Pelicans? I don't need 10 day ice retention, I just want sturdy latches. I have personally seen Yeti rubber latches break, and have personally broken Ozark Trail latches. I love the Pelican solid latches but goodness they're expensive and HEAVY

Lifetime makes a great rotomold cooler that’s under $100 at Walmart and holds ice for 7 days so it’s definitely the best bang for your buck by far! And the latches are nice!

I saw that, just haven't seen too many reviews on it. Do you have one personally?

I think so. I toss it in the back of the truck and I strap it in the boat and I can stand on the lid no problem (220lbs) for as long as I want.

I wish I would have taken a pick of how I strap it down. I run a winch strap across the top with the lid up. This allows me to open the lid to get whatever I want out of it. The strap is not in the way at all. The lid closes and latches completely.

The main reason is the rubber latches are a pain in the ass to latch the lid down. I would expect them to be worse in colder weather. The second reason there are less sharp corners.

Don't get me wrong, I'm keeping the OT, but I think these are a better unit.

I think they are US made, but not entirely sure.

Access Cab. I put in on the back seat, or remove the driver seat and set it on the pad I made. I strap the handles to the 'what do you call those heavy metal wires' where the jump seat goes. I use a strap used for holding stuff to a raft. Very stable.

I was disturbed to find that the Ozark Trail cooler is fading in the orange parts. The cooler is outside all the time and its only been a year and it is looking kinda pinkish.

Don't go with Rtic. I purchased one a few months ago. It holds ice exactly as my igloo does. It's heavy and doesn't have as much holding power. I wasted money big time.

I'm going to. I purchased with a eBay coupon, so I'm not into it too much.

The problem is, I wanted a cooler that would keep me from going to get ice where we are at the lake. I'm buying ice every 3 days. Identical to the igloo. I don't understand the point of lugging around such a back breaker of a cooler.

I hear that. I have a yeti and I’ve been happy with it but it’s heavy. I’ve grown to love the soft coolers lately, but that’s not a multiple day ice keeper, sadly.
