One of the pick n pulls has two of them but they won't sell the frames because they don't have the titles. One of the salvage yards has a good 1gen, but someone beat me to the frame. Most of the rest of the frames in the US have the same rear passenger side section already cut off the frame. It looks like I got one of the lucky trucks to have lasted this long. Frankie has 307k miles on him. I was reading posts here going back several months and and the frame issue is pretty complicated. Toyota purchased the completed frames from a subcontractor 2001-2009 called the Dana Corp and that company was the one that made the decision to skip a few steps in the steel fabrication for the frames. As soon as anything corrosive hits the steel used in the frames ie. road salt, its starts to delaminate from the inside out. This was my great aunts truck from Oklahoma so it had limited exposure to road salt and apparently did have the protective coating applied by Toyota in one of many recalls. One article posted on Tacoma world said the Dana Corp frames were used for the Tundras and some of the SUVs.

Not yet Kolunatic. Thanks for asking. One of the bigger salvage yards in Kentucky might have one, but they haven't called me back yet. There was one in Lakeland Florida on Craig's list that somebody on Tacoma world posted a link to, but unfortunately that one came from an auto tranny as well. $550 and still available, but I'm still trying to find out what needs to happen when to transplant it into a stick shift truck
