But it throws Paypal off the case for at least a couple days if not more. For an item that only cost a few dollars, many victims of a scam end up not going through the trouble of getting their money back and the scammer wins. Enough people like that and they can make decent money.

I think people that pay with PayPal there’s no problem. The scammers are fishing for people that pay with credit card. That would be a little more involved to recoup your loss.
