    Sam's quality doesn't trump Costco. IMHO :D

Shoulder is finally done... That's the good news... Bad news is that I had to finish it in the oven.

Unfortunately, I was doing a first run on a brand new smoker.

So I officially no longer own a taco, but I’m still going to have to keep an eye on this thread. Keep up the good work, guys!

Owning several smokers already and having done research on multiple pellet smokers... I felt I was prepared for the new one. However, when the smoker shuts itself off multiple times during a run it's not cool.

This thread is the greatest thing ever! You're part of the family no matter what you drive! Haha!

Ran a Traeger junior for years! She was a beast! If you like more smoke flavor, you may have to get yourself a smoke tube. Amaze-n tube....

I usually did like a 4-1-1....that was when it still had just the dial control. The new controllers are more adjustable IIRC.....more set and forget. :bananadead:

    What model did you get??

How's the island?! Told the wife to plan our next trip to Maui...it was awesome.

Crisp the skin side on high heat, then do them indirect at 275-325 for up to 2 hours. I've done then in spog but really like them in huli huli.

What grdgz97 said. Been ~10 years since been to a Sam's or WM and have no intentions of ever doing so again.

Used to purchase a lot at Sam's Club years ago then the quality steadily went downhill. Price is not my determining factor I will pay more for good quality. Meat and other items. Ended up buying meat from local butcher shops and packing plants. Finally checked out Costco because of so many on here. Pretty much all my meat is purchased at Costco now from pork belly to Ribeye cap steaks.

With that said someone at work mentioned some really good ribs from a local Iowa based store so likely pick up a couple racks tomorrow and try them. But have my doubts that they will be better than the ones I did from Costco last weekend. Will give them a try though just to make sure, I do like to keep my options open and always looking for better.

2nd Gen forum would have you tarred and feathered. Even for saying you were thinking of selling your Taco. Ask me how I know.

Grilled some jalapeno poopers tonight. Off the heat with a little oak:

Cooked 5 USDA choice t-bones after since I couldn't fit them alongside the poopers. A little thin and the cut was so so, but they turned out good:

Sailed slightly past my target, but still around medium:

Drank a bunch of these while lamenting my available surface area (Scotch whiskey sours with egg white. Yummmmm):

After a little liquid convincing, I ordered this to solve my surface area problems:

Could have waited and gone to Lowe's tomorrow, but I have 5+ lbs of beef ribs to smoke :D

Just to mess with your head there is at least one other person on here that will immediately think C = 3 x 108 m/s or 186,000 mi/sec.

But long before there was Dell EMC there was EMC. Then EMC². The C² came about when one of the original founders left, and the third gentleman that came in last name also started with C.

    EMC cup.jpg

Mug must be close to 25 years old now. Be surprised if you haven't had a case study or at least read about EMC in one of those MBA text books. Or real life :D
