I had a life adjustment that warranted the need for a car. It was a silver RC.

No pix on my phone. Will check computer later

Next time it needs new tires I think you should put some alloy wheels on it...

His first Taco looked just like mine, except it was an '09 stick shift. His second one was a white '13 RC 5-lug stick shift...

The Yaris doesn't look bad at all. The RC's look good too.

Why I stopped going to this bar called Pike's Pub...

This place is your classic dive bar. It's located in a dated shopping center, the interior hasn't been updated since at least the 1980s, and they still allow smoking! What really fueled my decision to NEVER go back was this incident in March 2017.

I neglected to monitor my phone's battery life, and at almost 2am I realized it was pretty much dead. By the time I realized this, all of my friends who had room in their cars had gone home. The reason I was at this bar in the first place is because my friend's band performed there. One of the guitar players from the band was still there with his then-new Jeep Renegade, but it was full of his gear so he had no room for another passenger. I called my parents right before 2am and was able to notify them of where I was, but then my phone died. I tried to go back inside Pike's and found that the door was already locked. It was unseasonably cold for March in Southeast PA; We're talking instant hypothermia if you're not careful!

I frantically banged on the front door of Pike's but there was no answer. My best friend John (whose band performed there) says they probably didn't hear me when I told him about this, but I was banging pretty fucking hard. I was also begging for them to let me in because it was so fucking cold.

Nobody came, and so I dashed across the street to another shopping center, where I waved down a group of people in a Mustang. After I explained my situation, the driver of the Mustang let me plug my phone into his USB charger and warm my hands in front of his car's vents. I called my parents, told them that this was an emergency and I needed to be picked up, and gave them the address of a bar in this shopping center. I thanked the Mustang owner, and we parted ways. I rushed over to the other bar, Maggio's, and they let me hang out there until my parents showed up. One thing that irked me is that it was after hours (bars in PA have to close at 2am), it was clearly a unique situation, and one of the Maggio's bartenders still insisted on seeing my license. It was either right before my 28th birthday, or right after I'd turned 28, so I was well past old enough to drink (not that I could legally purchase alcohol anyway because it was after hours). That got me thinking whether or I'd have been denied entry if I was 20, even though it was an emergency...

Either way, the Maggio's staffers were much better than the Pike's staffers. My parents came and picked me up, by which point I was sober enough that I could have driven my truck home if I hadn't gotten a ride there with the intention of drinking in the first place...

That incident was just the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back...

I went to that bar purely out of loyalty to my friend whose band played there. He still plays there because each band member gets paid $100 per show. Most of my friends hated that bar but only went there to support our friend and his band, and of course to socialize with the rest of the group. The only people in my group of friends who liked that bar were smokers...

And that brings us to the smoking. I've smoked cigars and I've smoked weed, but I'll never smoke a cigarette. I will also never smoked anything inside (my house, my truck, etc). I've been in the bar business for about four years now, and as an unwritten rule, it is generally frowned upon for staff members to smoke in front of customers even if the bar allows smoking inside. At the bar where I work, my boss and a lot of my coworkers smoke like an oil furnace in the middle of January. The inside part of my bar does not allow smoking, but it is allowed on the outdoor patio after 10pm. At my bar, you will NEVER see a bartender smoking behind the bar. Everyone goes out of sight to light up...

At Pike's, the bartenders smoke behind the bar, and waitress smokes while taking your order. It's so unprofessional!

That particular waitress was another grievance of mine. She was friendly and polite enough, but she was typically nearing the end of her shift when my friend's band arrived. I believe the kitchen closed at 10pm or 11pm. For some stupid reason, food could not be ordered at the bar. You had to seek out the waitress and place the order with her. A few of my friends told me that this waitress would approach them while they were still eating and try to hurry them along, presumably because she was at or near the end of her shift and wanted to collect her final tipout for the night. That system is a model of inefficiency...

Another issue was the crowd this bar attracted...

It was not a bad crowd, just not the type of crowd I had any desire to hang out with. It consisted almost entirely of chainsmoking baby boomers. To a group of young adults in their 20s and 30s, it's not fun at all!

Like any other bar, Pike's attracts scumbags from time to time. I distinctly remember this one time when my best friend's younger sister, who was 21 or 22 at the time, came to see him play. My friend was busy performing, and we were hanging out around the pool table. We started chatting with these two guys who were maybe a little older than me and probably at least ten years older than my friend's sister. I could tell that the one guy wanted to take her home, and this shithole has never had bouncers or any kind of security that I'm aware of, so I ended up sticking by her side for most of that night. Another friend took over for me when I went home for the evening.
