@PennSilverTaco, @Jamesboy2233, @El Duderino, this is my current mileage, I wonder what the mileage will be on the day I get rid of my Tacoma.

 

I really never look at my mileage. I’m the type of person who will get rid of a vehicle on a whim. You have a lot of choice when done with high school so you might on be putting on a few thousand more.

 

Is one of your tire pressure sensors bad?

 

I don't have TPMS. I'll buy some used Toyota/Lexus on eBay. They're like $45 for 4 OEM sensors.

 

Then why is your tire pressure light on?

All 2008 and newer vehicles, at least in America, have TPMS...

 

Remember that my wheels are not the same ones that came on my truck. The seller took off his TPMS, and put them on his new wheels.

 

You can get new ones from the dealer. Go to that Mexican dealer and get them on the cheap!

And customs won't search you or your truck?

 

They usually search every 3rd car. I'm ok with them searching my because they're doing their job, and border security is no joke.

 

I mean do they give a shit about you buying deeply discounted parts in Mexico...?

I'd let them search my truck on the condition that the dashcam stay on. Otherwise, ain't nobody going in my truck without a warrant.

 

They don't need a warrant, because you're considered "detained" while they search your vehicle. I'm sorry to tell you, but you can go to jail, if you fail to comply with their commands.

 

Not that I'd ever want to bring my Tacoma to Mexico anyway...

I don't mind it, maybe it's my interest in law enforcement. When I was 3-4, my dad was driving me to the mall so we could pick out a mother's day gift for my mom. We were stopped by the McAllen PD. The officer told us that our Nissan Frontier matched the appearance of another Nissan Frontier that was reported stolen. The officer handcuffed my dad and said it was for our protection, and the officers protection. We waited in the cop car while dispatch conformed our truck was not stolen. My dad did not resist, or try to escape, he just remained calm. We were released, and we're on our way to the mall.

 

Now that's bullshit...

I would have done exactly what your dad did and then sued the police department. Didn't the cop check the license plate or the fucking VIN? One of the reasons I modify my truck is so that the police will NEVER mistake it for a stolen vehicle!

 

It's not bullshit. Obviously, a thief would replace the license plates. And even my dad to this day thinks the officer was doing his job of not creating a big scene.

 

VIN...?

I would cooperate but I would not be happy about being handcuffed when I was innocent. I would have raised hell after being released. If you want to stick around for a while, I'll tell you why I have such a problem with dealing with the cops and showing ID...

 

I can't see my own VIN from 5 feet away from my truck.
