    That makes me feel a lot better. I think a lot of my disdain for authority comes from the raw deal I got in school...

    I was bullied. When I did the "right thing" and told a teacher or other staff member, it often seemed like they didn't do jack shit. When I finally lost my temper and "assaulted" a bully because I couldn't take it anymore, I got in trouble...

    The best thing to do is comply with everything an officer says. If you think he's being a dick, politely ask for his police number, and report him to the department.

    When I was involved in an accident that was my fault, the responding officers engaged me in conversation about my Tacoma, and I ended up feeling a whole lot better. The cops started talking about their own trucks, but it was a different situation. Yes, I was still at fault, but I was suspected of being a heroin-addicted burglar.

    My uncle is a cop, and the one thing he has a hard time dealing with is all the heroin overdoses that occur in his jurisdiction, especially teenagers...
