Relay works great and does not get hot with only 7 and 8 plugged in. It only acts funny with when everything else gets plugged in.

Something is different from the relay in the write up. It's hard to say if it's bad or not, but my bet is it's bad. The relay in the first post has the following continuities:
    • Power off 1-5 & 2-6
    • Power on 3-5 & 4-6
If it is just a standard relay look closely and there should be a wire to pin 6. I've had some relays where that has come loose. I don't try and fix them, but you could with some careful soldering.

Sorry for all of the posts, problem is solved.... I followed a pin out and wiring diagram from another forum. It was wrong lol. Mod works great now.

Well it appears I'm in some shit but I expected that. Here are the wires at the switch melted together. Any idea where that yellow wire goes? I'm just going to run 2 new wires obviously.

    I did some stuff.
So I did the mod tonight and the locker engages no problem. But all my 4wd lights, abs, vsc, and locker light are on constantly with the vehicle started. I checked all fuses associated with 4wd, vsc, and ABS but none are blown. Any ideas on what this could be?

    *edit*
I returned it to stock and the issue went away. Bad relay?

If the relay was bad the locker would not work. Double check the connections are going to the correct pins.

    1. Green / Black Stripe
    2. Violet (one end of your "Y" cable)
    3. Violet (the other end of your "Y" cable) ((the third end of your "Y" cable is connected to the violet wire using the vampire tap))
    4. Pink
    5. Green
    6. Blue
    7. Ground (if you are using a diode equipped relay it's important that 7 and 8 are connected correctly. If you do it backwards fuse ig1 no.2 will blow.)
    8. Red / Black Stripe

Anybody near Salt Lake City and want a free locker anytime mod? Here's the deal, you bring your truck to me and allow me to record the installation start to finish. In return you'll get a locker anytime mod installed for free. I'll post that video to help those that want to attempt it for themselves.

    I did some stuff.
Figured out what the issue was. The Receptacle in the harness plug for the purple wire some how got recessed while doing the mod. Pushed it back in to position, plugged the relay back in, and mod works perfectly.

Does anyone know the part number for the connector you have to cut? I want to do this mod but like others, I'm hesitant to cut the harness. Im thinking if I find the right connectors I can make an intermediate harness that has the relay installed, so it can be removed it needed.

    I do not.
You would have to go to the Steeler ship and pull the schematics up for the part #.
There is not a plug and play.
No matter the ordeal you still have to mod the wires.
It's all in or not at all.
Just do the connections lagit and you can put it back to normal if you decide to sell the truck.

You'd need the male and female side of the plug. Without giving it a lot of thought it's probably doable, if you can find the plugs. Keep us posted on your search.

if you sell the truck at a dealer or on your own.... This mod will go undetected. Don't sweat it.

    Ok posting findings.

Not sure If has anything to with the mod but pretty sure it does as I will explain, when switching from 4x4 low to hi with the locker already Engaged locker still being on it blinks and will not disengage or change from the last mode I was in until you turn the truck off and reset it basically.

    The computer is smart sometimes.

I've never had any problem using just the locker.

I've never had any problems with the 4x4.

But it does not like the locker engaged and trying to take it out of 4low with the locker still engaged, when I was not moded.. the computer would take the locker off automatically even though the button still in on. For mine at least. And is the was it should work according to the book.

You have to be stopped and in neutral to switch in and out of 4 low or else it will beep. Having the locker engaged with this mod will not effect this transition from 4 low
