Satalite radio

Did any second generation Tacoma’s come with satalite serious XM. If so, how can I install one in my 07? I don’t want anything after market.

 

There were definitely radios in the 05-11 model years that came from factory with sat. I have a 2013 tho (one of the years that Toyota took away SAT for whatever reason) so my guidance ends there.

You’d be looking for a 2005-2011 radio specifically so it will fit without changing dash parts. You’d also need the corresponding antenna.

 

all the stereos are compatible, you need the receiver (small black box on roof) and there's an adaptor you have to buy from the stealership which is a few hundred dollars. It connects to your kicker panel.

If it’s not stock... it’s aftermarket...

So looks like you need to buy a used 2nd Gen that came with stock Sat radio.

 

I have an Alpine CDE-HD149BT satellite compatible single din radio in my 2013. I got it from Crutchfield and they had a Sirius satellite adapter and wiring harness for the Toyota. A few too many features for me but it works well enough and I enjoy satellite radio. They probably have newer radio models by now but this is ok. It was not that expensive if I recall it's been a few years since I bought it. I like the extra dash cubby from the single din conversion too.

Edit: The sound is FAR better than the stock Toyota Touch screen radio. Not impressed with oem radios by and large, UNLESS it is a factory premium optional system.
