None yet, looking to make changes
Disclaimer: Before everyone busts .my ball's for not having aTRD version, I got what I thought was a deal at the time for what I could afford.

Question: I know I can't change this to aTRD, I would like to up grade cosmetic wise for my own piece of mind. I need some suggestions on the rear bumper, I was backed into and jacked that plastic all up. I want to do away from .there chrome look to black.

Being a SR5 .would you go through the trouble of raising it a couple of inches? I can only do a little at a time.

    Thanks

I would recommend 2 options. The first get a steel bumper replacement or get color matched caps for the bumber. Both have their advantages but it’s up to you.
I am in the process of getting color matched ones, got one used one and now patiently waiting to get the other one.

No one cares if its an SR5 or TRD PRO MAX TEXAS EDITION™

The underlying truck is almost the exact same.

Do what you want to do.

1.Don't worry about what other people think 2. don't go into debt for something you can't afford( TRD) 3. The color of your truck is called Inferno and not Burnt Orange. Good Luck with the truck!

I like my SR5 and I got it because I wanted to get a truck with a monthly payment that I liked. I could've gotten the Sport or OR, but at the end of the day they're all the same except for the different features and options. It's your truck and do what you want to it and make it your own.

This. But for what it is worth, Toyota does make black bumper caps. I can find the part number if you want.

    Good Evening fellow SR5 bro,

    Get color matched bumper caps.

SR5 Tacomas are still great trucks. We all end up modifying the suspension after the fact, whether it's a lift, adding a rear locker, etc. and is considerably better than a stock TRD. Never feel guilty about getting an SR5.

TRDs are nice but I'm perfectly fine with my Inferno SR5. Mine is still stock even though I've thought about doing several things to it. I would really like to start with the speaker upgrade. Someday...

Put a trailer hitch in that receiver with a 2-inch drop and then turn it upside down. Then hopefully if some jackhole backs up into you again, they'll hit that trailer hitch and not your bumper.

I had the chrome bumper caps on my Inferno SR5 and plasti dipped them black for now but will be looking to body color match them when I have the time/funds.

And don't worry about having an SR5, they are the same exact truck just without some of the fancy bells and wistles that not everyone needs. We are all in the same Taco Family! No one is going to blast you for owning an SR5... Only if you had a Ridgeline...

Where in Texas are you? I have my factory rear bumper sitting in my garage. Has unpainted black caps. You can take the whole thing for $100???

You can get black bumper caps and install them as-is or get them painted and installed. rockauto has them for ~ $110 for the pair.

My residence is in Sanger, TX, but I'm only there ever other weekend. I work out of Stratford just north of Amarillo.

I appreciate the offer, if I can't get the other insurance company to pay I'm going to go a differ route. A steel bumper on the back.

Again, I appreciate the offer and all the advice. It's helped
