What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Just saying. I mean who in their right mind would spend $1800 for new headlights or 3k on shocks when less expensive ones will do.

All this sure makes my $274 (access cab) Clazzio black leather awful sweet not including the free embroidery they gave me. And after 2.75 years they still look like factory installed leather seats.

 

You know, back in the seventies I was working on the Lockheed L1011 passenger jet and the King of Saudi Arabia wanted one for himself. He asked for, and received, SOLID GOLD plumbing in the lavatories. Armed guards while installing them!! Go figure?

 

Okay. Then it’s just the tires I’m guessing.

Got my OVtune installed last night! One of the best things I have done to my truck. Adjusted my morimoto fogs, much happier with them.

I think they are about the same brightness as the stock ones I had. The color is a lot better though.
Over all I am really happy with the way it is coming together.
It was rough getting to this point, a month of frustration with install of all the mods i have done this time. Anytime I spend a lot of money on something I want it to be like I imagined it would be when I was planning

 

Bought the kit on the eBay. Installed them myself. Like I said, I didn't want to spend Katzkins money on seat covers. The Clazzios were nearly as much, and I would of had to wait 8 weeks for anything other than plain black.

 

How was the installation. Did the kit have all the hog rings and parts you needed. Did you add heaters in yours. Takes a lot of patience doing that job. At least you only had to do the fronts.

Just normal tools. I bought a pair of hog ring pliers at Tractors R Us for 10 bucks, and a pack of rings. First seat took a little over 3 hrs., but I knocked out the second one in two. Good videos abound on the interwebs for all the technical bits. If one can stretch a pillow case over a pillow, and do minor auto repair, you can do this.

Damn, my hands are sore.

 

My 3 yr old son was helping me sand some exterior trim prepping for paint. I went to the garage to grab more supply. I had my back to him and he sanded the passenger door. Gotta love emm!!!

 

I just wish someone made something in leather, or even pvc, to cover our rear jump seats. I realize we access cabs are a minority but those gray jump seats look cheap in comparison to nice front covers or skins. They are odd shaped back and headrests but I really would like to upgrade the appearance of mine somehow.

 

Someone makes them. In all my searching, I found a place to order them. Maybe Katzkins? I don't recall. I deleted mine.

 

I fabricated a Amp rack and installed a 300W Alpine amp and a pair of Rockford Fosgate T1693 6x9 and put them in some Bass Bunkers.
Took me 6 hours, and today was a hot & humid one...

 

No point in rerouteing the exhaust if I’m not gonna order skids. So...just ordered full set of skids from CBI.
