Especially Wed night when they open all the dumps and shut the short run down it gets really fun then. You gotta go there one of those days but be prepared to spend a lot of time swimming :D

I love Buffalo Trace, but this barrel that my local liquor store picked out is especially good.

I need to try some good bourbon. I always get crown and mix it with coke but haven't gotten too much into drinking it straight.

Crown is low rent, blended, Canadian trash. LOL. JK, I've killed a lot of it in my day. Good bourbon is MUCH better.
I sometimes put some coke in bourbon (about 2/3 bourbon, 1/3 coke), but usually one large ice cube and a splash of water.

It's better than most and gets me where I need to be!

What would be a good place to start?

Jim Beam Black, Larceny, or Buffalo Trace. Those are good and pretty cheap.

I will say...your palate will develop over time, so I would start mixing it, at first. Before you know it, you will start to appreciate the bourbon flavors more and use less and less mixer. Then, eventually, you will end up with ice/water or neat.

I started with the bourbon in the freezer and went from there . Cold bourbon doesn't give off the aeromatic that warm does and it didnt give much afterbite. Then I slowly moved to just an ice cube and bourbon. I may have gone ass backwards, but it worked for me.

Maker’s Mark for me. My boss is a bourbon nut, says Blanton’s is the best Bourbon he’s ever had but it’s small batch so I can never find it.

Wild Turkey. Great flavor and not terribly expensive. I like Elijah Craig, too. Jim Beam is always good in a pinch.
