    That was the cliffnotes version. I've had the tires on my mind a lot today.

    Dont forget CMC and adding a front locker might as well skip 285's and just jump up to 40's like the marlin crawler 3rd gen :devil:. I would work on figuring out what you need to change on the truck to perform through experience. See what it can do and what needs improved for your intended use. My first trip with the truck was completely stock with no off-road experience. Through trips and wheeling at local parks I have found what upgrades I need sooner than later. Breaking things helps with that also.:anonymous: It wouldnt be so bad if it was just 285's and basic armor(skids/sliders). I wish I had gone 285's sooner. They look so much better on my truck than the 265's i bought 6 months before I added the lift. I know I'm forgetting some things but I have easily added >600lbs in mods on the truck and another 200-300+ when I'm loaded up for a camping trip. I didnt notice much of a change in the truck until I got onto some step climbs.

    It helps acceleration in the city since it holds gears longer but its wasnt any help on the trails. OVtune might help on the trails but I havent convinced myself to go that route since I know gears are the right fix for my needs and future plans.

    If only regearing your looking at a starting cost of around $1400 for just the gear install kit. Looks like my regear would run up around 3k with addons and shipping after the core exchange.
