    Morning all:
Unfortunate that there have been so many devastating fires out West in recent years, seems like they just can't get a break and that they are causing multiple deaths. :( We had on and off heavy rain here for a few days that didn't cause any flooding in the area, out toward the middle of the state they got the brunt of it and have flooding.

:( Just checked tire pressures on the new Toy, 3 were at 34lb and 1 at 36, tires call for 44lb so I would guess the dealer didn't check them! Anyway, aired them up and now the TPMS readings all show --- :annoyed:! Tried the reset button, it blinked 3 times, then waited 5min to see if they would read, nope! Also read where you need to drive it after hitting the reset for them to read, what ever happened to where putting air in tires was a simple task!

AH HA, Just drove it and the tire pressures are now showing! :woot:

The additional unfortunate consequence of the forest fires is that they will be followed by mudslides when the rains return.

I agree with you Carl, they just can't catch a break.

A coworker/friend of mine lost his 19 year old daughter in the Central PA flooding. Apparently she and a friend tried to cross a rain-swollen stream and were swept in. Friend managed to grab a tree and call for help, but his daughter disappeared. This happened Monday night; they didn't find her until Thursday, after the flooding finally began to subside.

I can't imagine how it must feel. I want to do/say something but my brain comes up empty.

Prayers  for your friend and his family Dave. I can't imagine losing a child. Words don't need to be said Dave, just being there for support and an ear to listen is sometimes better than words. Condolences to him and his family.

Dave, I cannot imagine more pain and grief than your friend is feeling. May he find comfort and peace in the days ahead.

That is just tragic. A parent's worst nightmare.

Unfortunately, people underestimate the force of running water and try to wade or drive through.

It's been a rough week here in northeast PA - fortunately for us everything is waterlogged but we haven't had any flooding. Hopefully it will dry out enough for me to cut the grass today...cause we're getting more rain this week.

So sorry for you all up north! Seems like the rain won't stop this year.

My condolences and prayers go out to the families

Thanks all. Please keep channeling those feelings, thoughts, prayers and vibes towards the Olweiler family. They're the ones in need right now.

On a happier note, we're coming down the home stretch on a piece of furniture my wife has wanted to finish for years. She had a cabinet top -- it looks like it might have been in an old post office or general store perhaps -- but we had not been successful finding something to put it on top of. We finally found something but it was rotted out on the bottom. So I just cut 3" off all the way around! We made a new bottom floor out of some old boards we had laying around (did I tell you I'm a packrat?). My wife has done the refinishing and so on, and now we're on the home stretch. It's going to be a beast of a piece, 42 inches wide and almost 8 feet high. Can't wait to see it all together.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Word to the wise -- measure your ceiling height to make sure it fits before building the new bottom.
Good luck with your project. I have been restoring old furniture for 40 years --still do. Primary reason there is no room in my garage for cars.

Our ceilings are, I dunno, 25 feet or so. ;) We live in a converted bank barn. And please don't mistake what I do for actual cabinetmaking -- I'm pretty much of a hack with stuff made of wood. We go for 'the rustic look' whenever I have to pick up a woodworking tool. :anonymous:

    Leave the buttons alone..
You just reset the low pressure threshold...
We usually set them at 35 and check wear at 5000 and ask cust his driving towing habits..
    44 psi sidewall pressure ?

 oh well ! Tires call for 44lb so that's what I aired them at. It was hot when I did it and that night they were all showing 41lb on the display, close enough!

I do the restoration on furniture every so often. Family members are always asking me to fix furniture.

Thought l would ask here first.
Anyone own a duel sport motorcycle? Reason l am asking is one of my closest friends asked me yesterday if l would be interested in riding cross country to the Alaskan coast next year. And l'm real interested in going. We have a whole year to plan. But at this point the motorcycle will be my focus.l'm not new to motorcycles but would be open to seeing what would be the best one to take.

I have a '09 Kawasaki KLR650. Under 10,000 miles, runs great. They do have some upgrades we wish Kawasaki would do from the fa ctory.

I did back in the 70’s.
It was called on and off road I think back then.
    Comfort is #1.
Get a bike bigger than you think you need.
I know this may sound stupid but check along your route to see what’s available for repair places.
As an example, If you have a Harley and all repair places deal towards Yamaha then you may not be in the best shape.

Tires are Very important. More street, more off road.
    Just a few thoughts.
