Drain the oil in the pan the night before...

ETA the oil pan attached to the engine. Christ, you guys confused me with your instructions, and I’ve been changing my own oil for decades. Pull the dipstick? Really?

The questions were fair, it was the answers that were hilarious.

Why in the world are you changing the rear diff fluid? Have too much money?

So this one you need a 24mm 6pt socket’ 1/2 in ratchet, An 2 crush washers an 4 qts. of gear oil.

Make sure you take the fill plug out first. (You don’t don’t wanna drain then find out you cant fill.)

Then drain plug this takes a few min it’s supa thick. (Grab a beer or mind altering consumable of your choice.

Wipe the drain plug clean of the metal shaving an oil. Install new crush washer. (You May wanna squirt some gear oil thru diff to flush out any possible remaining contaminates.) reinstall drain plug.

Pro Tip grab the quarts of gear oil you have to cut the top an squirt. This will go a lot faster than using a hand pump for the sake of your sanity an health.

Fill the diff with gear oil till it starts coming out the fill hole. Swap new crush washer on fill plug tighten down. Wipe rear end down an torque both plugs to 35ft lbs or purty snug if you don’t have a torque wrench don’t need to He-Man it.

Test drive an drink another beers.

Good Pro Tip, although I can’t imagine any DIYer using a hand pump. One more f’ing thing to clean up, and remember this is Chad we’re talking about. The only guy that has an autoclave in his garage, if he had a garage...
