I hadn't heard of the honey waffles, might order some rather than doing the Gu's. Had some of them on saturday morning during my run and wasn't entirely sold. Plus I don't need all the caffeine that is in them, will just make me have to shit during the race.

    Morning everybody.
Put the boat into salt water for the first time this weekend. She did pretty good for us; we just put in on the Back River from Westport Island, went down through Goose Rock Passage, and down the Sheepscot, then headed back up the Sheepscot, past Fort Edgecomb, and back down the Back River. The GF's parents just bought property on the Back River side of Westport Island this spring, so they hadn't seen their property from the water or been around the island yet, so we picked them up for a sightseeing cruise. Problem was, coming back up the Sheepscot side of Westport Island we ran into a fog bank and couldn't see anything that was more than 30 yards out until we cleared Barter's Island

Hey all, I ordered a set of American Flag decals from the vendor Billy recommended, Pixel Decals. They arrived the other day, look great but are not what I'm looking for. If anyone would like them, and are local, please let me know and they are all yours. This is what they look like, they are a matched pair.

I already reordered my next set :oldglory:

That's why we put radar in the ocean vessel. You can't really reliably nav around the Maine coast without it, there is often too much fog.

I was at Champlain this weekend. Wow that is a big body of water.

I like Lake Champlain. For a lake, it can have some pretty rough waters at times. The islands are a fun way to kill a day. When we go up there, we hitch a ride to one of the islands on my Uncle's boat, he beaches it and we just lounge around on the beach all day.

Yeah, radar would have been nice. We were able to keep track of where we were courtesy of the Garmin, since it has a surprisingly accurate GPS in addition to the depth/fish finder. But there were a couple of instances of 'Surprise, there's another boat!' even though we were sticking fairly close to shore and just idling along around 5-6mph.

I just tried them for the ultra and they are great. So good. I really like the shot bloks vs the Gu's personally. I don't get bothered eating them for 12 hours. No adverse intestinal issues either for me.

Check the waffles out, tons of places sell them: https://www.honeystinger.com. they are really good.

I used them as treat 2x per lap on the ultra. It was almost my prize for meeting milestones during the race.

Couple of pictures from the trip this weekend.

    Started out nice and sunny

But once we got around on to the East side of the island on our return trip it started fogging in

    Pardon the 20mph-plus-a-headwind hair

Eventually we were pretty socked in.

But after we worked our way up past Barter's Island into the narrows it cleared up and was bright and sunny again.

    Don't know who that is.
But he probably makes enough $$ that he'd probably be using a considerably larger, much newer boat.

Edit-- I have much less grey in my beard, though. Winning!

Also blech, for the most part. My tastes run more towards blues/classic rock/90's alternative. Some of the newer alternative is ok, but it's mostly trash.
