How do you get them off and back on the truck?

 

I do it the time consuming way....use painter's tape all around the emblems, cut little pieces to fit. Then tape grocery bags around the area and spray with Plastidip. Gotta peel the tape off right away though or it'll take the paint off with it.

Use a toothpick to clean any messy edges, good thing about PlastiDip is that it comes off easy if you get a little messy with it.

Lol I was thinking that as I was taping mine off. If you have a heat gun you could probably remove the emblems without much hassle and dip them, then reapply.

 

Yup, way too much work for me, that would drive me crazy & if it didn't come out perfect around the edges. PO debaged my truck & I'm glad.

 

I got the same coilovers as turbodb.

Agreed there good for road and light offroading. The newer ones look they perform better but who knows unless they have had both. With a plate bumper and winch they hold up nice for the added weight but that's cause I got 650 eibach coils. But ya run them for a year or so.

 

I thought the same thing when i was working on it. Haha! I felt the same way when i realized i had to reuse the washers

 

How hard is this to do? I have 154k on my truck and im pretty sure the bearings are original. Reason i ask is I have the front taken apart already so i might as well change them now.

I think the hardest part is pressing in the bearing

 

What Fernando said. Need to take them to a shop with a big ass press to have them pressed in and out. That being said mine have 270k on them and feel fine

 

I took my badges off and bought 2nd gen ones. Painted those black and put them on. I think next time I'm going to go with vinyl 3rd gen emblems kinda like @Delta00 did

Thanks fellas, i was worried my project was about to take another hit to the wallet.

 

Yup, I've 215K on my front bearings & they still seem good. No noise or wheel play. Not looking forward to doing them when the time comes though. hopefully not for a while.

I did get the axle bearings replaced a couple months ago but only cause it was leaking on one side, figured I might as well do seals & bearings on both sides.

 

Rear is lifted, makes my truck have that hot rod look. LOL. Will take pics when its not hot AF.
