Good Morning all

 

I just got the caristaOBD2 and the 1 month free trial app to adjust some settings on my truck. If anyone wants to adjust some things, like annoying dings hit me up. I'll cancel it,, before Aug 30th.

 

I would love to remove the seatbelt chime

 

You may be able to but the 2nd gens I tried, didnt work.

Edit: It didnt work on @Texoma and @TX-TACO 2nd gens. It did work on @T4Rgurl's runner. Its worked on all 3rd gen tacos so far. I would even bet it would work on your wifes rav

Using the carista app

 

The rear diff is really easy. You can vacuum out the fluid, or open the pumpkin, and replace the gasket. If you do the latter, get a sandwich bag and fill it with the gear oil it calls for. When you reassemble, put the sandwich bag in the cover and rebolt on. Once everything is torqued on, spin the wheels in each direction a few times. The ring gear shreds open the plastic bag, and all the gear oil is in the housing, not on the ground. As the gear spins it will eventually shred the plastic into nothing.

 

A small 1.5-2 foot piece of clear plastic tubing stuck on the end of the bottle let's you use gravity instead of pneumatics/hydraulics. Put the other end in the diff, and raise the bottle.

 

Ah. He used a version of Techstream he got off Amazon.

 

You forgot to tell him to make sure he did the oil change right when he got home to make sure the oil was hot, therefore more viscous and would come out faster.

 

Makes for a smoother burn too.
