Yeah i was in full #NFG mode this past weekend. Still upset I didn't make it all the way up Jotter's, especially since I almost had it that one time but couldn't fully commit for fear I would end up like that bronco did. It was a good thing I tried it before I witnessed that too. The sad part is everyone was done for the day but I suggested we do Jotter's because I always wanted to give it a go. The guy Jim was just wheeling with us, and originally said he wasn't even going to attempt it, and then last minute changed his mind. In case any of you want to see the video I am referring to, it's this.

I only got halfway up when I broke my shit. He got further than me though.

holy shit, that's gnarly. Glad he was wearing his belt, at least it seems like it. Figure he would've been a goner otherwise...assuming he's okay?

Got me the matte gray. Too many people around here have black/dark wheels. They do look good but I wanted something different, all my friends have dark wheels too. I almost couldn't wait & was going to buy gunmetal last month. I hope I made the right choice of waiting for the gray. At the tire shop now getting them put on.

I can help you out if you make it up here, but it's not too complicated to make a press too either if you have a welder.

I wouldn't trust hardly any mechanic to do it right, especially get the retainer in the right place. If you have a shop do it, just have them press it apart, and then you can press it together yourself with a piece of 2" tubing. Also the flipping the retainer trick is completely unnecessary IMO. I've done the job three times now and haven't had any issue getting the seal in the middle of the retainer installing it the correct way.

Those are such awesome wheels....I'd be afraid of beating them up though. Mine are pretty haggard lol.

post some pics when they're mounted!

mine nearly looked like that when I noticed brake fluid leaking out of my front lines when the banjo bolt came loose, got lucky I caught it when I did. So where's the leak?

Yup, will do, I really love the look of them too. Luckily they don't cost much but it sucks that you can't just buy them whenever you want/need. Plus my truck seems to be missing axles in the front so no rock crawling for me.

All my truck sees is desert, sand, & fire roads so the wheels shouldn't get beat up. I didn't know any better when I got out of lowered imports 14 yrs ago when I bought this truck. All my friends told me I didn't need 4x4 around here. Totally regret listening to them. I bought this truck to stay out of trouble & to have something I would keep stock & not spend money on. Well that didn't work out. This one's a keeper but my next vehicle will definitely be a 4x4!

Yeah it was gnarly. Scariest recovery I have ever been a part of. He was wearing his belt and his exo saved his ass for sure. He did have some shit in the cab that was floating around (his hood prop, aka a 2x4) and was disoriented but walked out eventually. We got it flipped back over, filled his tires, got the oil out of the pistons and topped it off, and he drove back to the parking lot and back onto his trailer himself.

RCV does, other than that OEM is strongest I have seen. BUT then you potentially make the diff a weak point if you take away the CV's, or even the ADD tube like in my potential situation. I much rather swap a CV and keep going then have something happen that ends a trip. Plus the shit I was doing was with the front end locked, one time I was bound up, the other I was bouncing. And probably on trails/lines IFS had no business on.

What Cynical said. Run the risk if breaking other parts that aren't as easy to swap out. Just do your best not to get the all bound up

No center caps yet. I'm not used to running center caps. Wanted to put the TRD caps on cause they're flat but the ones I receive were damaged so gotta wait for replacements. Maybe I'll slap on the SCS ones for now when I get home.

Gonna have to get used to these Ray10s, I like them but for some reason I already miss my old wheels.
