I'm having the same issue (just moved to Vegas.)

The truck has felt gutless once the IAT's go >120° on my Scanguage.

Pulling out of Lowe's in Centennial this week the truck lost all power and then found it again over 2K RPMS.

Definitely taking it in this week to have the TSB done.

I tried getting it done yesterday up here in Canada. Dealership couldn't find any information on it when i brought in the US TSB. Might try again in a couple weeks.

When you go in tomorrow could you find out what the TSB number is for Toyota Canada?

At the dealership now hoping they update it. My big issue has been stuck at high rpm while finding a gear between 5th/6th which has been documented by the dealership already. There Rep said it was a high altitude issue. So not sure this update will fix my problem but keeping my fingers crossed!

I am going to tell them it is a known problem. I don't like it, therefore I will not permit them to replicate it. It is plain dangerous and irresponsible, and I don't want them to abuse my truck, it is my property. Do the update.
    That's my argument.

I took mine into the dealership over a week ago and told them that mine would upshift to early while going up hills then have to downshift. Plus the constant searching for gears. They said the would look at it and later called to inform me there was an update.

I got my truck back that afternoon and it drives so much better now.

So just got my truck back and a super super super quick initial impression. Does seem to have a little more initial power instead of slamming the pedal to get it. Was on the free way and does seem to shift a bit quicker. Will update more as I get more time on. Also super happy that they are upgrading my squeaky leaf springs with new parts!

I got a transmission update today but wasn’t able to get the actual TSB number. I’ve been up to date on my ecu updates since new so this is the latest for sure. Only drove it about 5km seems more responsive

When i got to the dealer they initially said i was current.

I pulled up both TSB's (58/62) and said that both reference an updated ECU code version that is impossible for my truck to have (built in 10/17). However, my transmission code is current.

    He applied 04B04.

Since i'm coming from 04B03 the changes are not as drastic as they may be for others. I just did 200 miles highway after my 5k checkup, oil filter change, and TSB.

    Pros:
City feels just a bit better. Truck's throttle is a bit more responsive and shifts are smooth. No rev hang. No clunks that I experienced.
Highway throttle feels better in 5th and 6th. Less of that boat anchor/dead pedal feeling. It holds 5th just a bit longer before downshifting to 4th for hills but definitely 'feels' more willing to move
I managed 23.2mpg going 70mph with varied flat and hilly highways.
Less hanging on to 4th once cresting a hill. Truck smoothly moves to 5th and 6th once the load decreases.

    Cons:
Cruise Control doesn't seem any better. Still aggressively shifts to 4th when a more aggressive throttle input in 5th would have sufficed.
Throttle is not as aggressive as OVTune's.

Is the update in the right direction? Yes, does it fix everything? No. More power or better gearing is the only thing that will fix that shitty 5th gear ratio.

Got both TSBs. Very happy with the short drive home. I love my dealership and service advisor. No hassles. No fuss.877489D9-6638-46CA-8A74-93174B91C3F4.jpg

I brought mine in Calgary AB. They said no TSB found. I ran Techstream 12.2 and it said ECU update available and yet the dealer said no update. They didn't even bother look at the TSB print out, saying it didn't apply to my truck blah blah. Feeling hopeless with these guys. If I have a TIS acct I'll update the ECU myself.

I have another appt with another dealer tomorrow. Not giving up hahaha
