please don't ever weld rebar to your rusty frame... I've seen that.

I can see booger welding something together to save some cash. I see people spend redonk amounts ($900+) on sliders. I found a weld together kit for $260 and booger welded it myself - not pretty, but it holds the weight of the truck just fine. But U-bolts are like $20.

That guy must had had to buy extra U-bolts to cut and weld together, why not just buy the proper length?

Nice dimes, you taking a welding class? What welder? I have a little Lincoln 125 that works well, but obviously under powered for the thick stuff.

Other thing about the U bolts is that iirc, it's not recommended to re-use them anyway (tho I've heard it both ways) - they stretch. Again, they're so cheap it doesn't really make sense to do what that dude in the pic did.

That seams like something Dirt Everyday would do.

That would make for a good frame rust fix, while still allowing full frame articulation.

Kinda regretting not getting a 180, but the 125 was in my budget at the time, and there weren't any decent used ones on craigslist at the time.

It'll still do bumpers and sliders and lawn furniture (which is what I told my wife I'd work on first, lol)

WTF? Please tell me this is not an actual Toyota accessory? Look at that 'bumper' - a bump from a bird hit would shatter that thing. @BartMaster1234 Love the light bar :notsure:

so finally finished install of the OME kit. Headed off for an alignment and the toyota tech said my he couldn't get the caster in the green. It was either the caster or the camber and opted for the caster as the camber would've caused tire wear. Suggested I go with aftermarket UCAs.

I'm thinking once the coils settle, might be possible to get it back in the green?

Of course Toyota didn't put that crap on. I just mean that someone who has a 3rd gen would think this was cool.

Just get UCAs. You don't need to spend $700 on Total Chaos uniballs. SPC makes some, light Racing makes them, too...

Yeah I mentioned SPC to the tech, he kind of shook his head and said go with another one. Something about seeing them with snapped ball joints. Weird since haven't come across anything negative about them here.

Sucks that others have had no issues with stock UCAs paired with 881s. You think will make a difference when it settles? I still have a ton of tread left but want to go with a little larger tire to fill it in a bit more. I'll re-do the alignment when I do the tires. :fingerscrossed:
