    I had a vault and combo pin in my receiver all winter in Edmonton. It was covered in salt and exposed to at least minus -30 some days. It still opens up fine and looks the same as when I got it.

    An Altoids tin will block the signal from the key fob. Plus, if you leave some mints in it you'll have fresh breath when you get back to your truck! (This is in response to the original post as I couldn't be bothered to read all the others)

    You can get RFID blocking pouches off Amazon for dirt cheap. I think the bags for the EZ Pass are just for anti-static like many electronics come in.
