I'm not posting for sale here. This is a general question.

How is the market for used Tacomas, generally speaking. I am wanting to sell my 17 Tacoma TRD OR and keep my 1st gen. How long can I expect the turd gen to see tire kickers before it sell IF it even sells? I am looking to put what KBB or NADA has for this truck as it still smells new. I appreciate everyone's input. Thanks, all.

Even having a Tacoma won't save you from new car depreciation. Wait a year or two and the value really starts to hold.

I understand about the depreciation and honestly I am not worried about that. I just want to be rid of the truck and its note.

You'd probably be able to sell your 1st gen for book value before you would your 3rd gen. Selling a new used vehicle is the biggest pain in the ass ever.

    same shit as everyone else
I sold my 08 on this site within minutes of posting at a high KBB. I wouldn’t knock selling your truck on TW.

As a potential, future first and third gen owner, why do you want to sell it, besides the cost? If you don't mind me asking.

That’s an impossible question, OP. You could sell it tomorrow or wait a year. You won’t know until you list it.

Post it everywhere local and offer incentives.

You could sell it to the dealership in less than an hour

My first gen is just a solid truck that I don't care about looks. Shopping cart hit it? Oh well. Dependable. PAID FOR.

Third gen has nice tech to it but I don't use it. I planned to, life happened and now I am not. I am not going to overland, rock crawl, or anything of the sorts. Finances are also a huge thing for me right now. As I said, life happens. I would love to get rid of the truck payment. And I have a 26 foot camper in my yard that needs moved. Cant do that with either truck. This truck hurts my lower back. I have family 2.5 hours away and when I go to visit, my back is not happy. By the time I get home, my back is HATING me. I honestly do not have that issue with my 1st gen. But my first gen doesn't have cruise control...

The market for your truck depends on miles, condition, and your asking price. If it's near new, expect near new pricing. Someone wants it... Toyota isnt selling so many Tacos on accident.

I'm just spit ballin' here but it might sell faster if you dont refer to it as a "turd gen" when you list it.

It's all about the price bro. Check your local dealers prices on comparable years and models, price it about 5% lower and it should sell.

I love my third gen, but to each his own.

Just list it. It will sell. If you want the best price, sell yourself but be patient. If you want to unload, go to the dealer.
