My order date was May 20th, and my original build date was Oct 29th. I emailed and asked for an update and was given this info:

You are #114, with an estimated build start date of November 12th, 2018. The production process takes about 3 weeks and we are producing about 5 a week.

Don’t get your hopes up. I’m 58 and was quoted a start date of August 27th which means that the end date is 3 weeks from that date. I would’ve been able to drive out over Labor Day but without a big enough discount on gas cost it’s not worth it since white glove is free. I’m located east in Michigan though and have the first short bed Colorado apparently, so could be slightly longer due to that.

They did also mention there has been an additional 2 week delay due to a “production problem”. No elaboration on that. My original build date was August 13th before my last update. If I hadn’t reached out not sure I would’ve found out.

    It's DLX son!
That's interesting, when they contacted me on Friday Elise indicated my build should start this week, and that labor day was a realistic date for me to aim for for pickup. I'll probably wait until the end of the week to confirm that they have stated mine and then put in my vacation request.

Even for me on the west coast, the $250 pick up discount doesn't cover gas but I'm willing to make a fun trip out of it in order to expedite getting the camper in my truck vs waiting for a white glover.

I do wonder what the production choke point is. If I had to guess it's powder coating, and if demand for these stays the way it has been I would expect to see them move it in house eventually.

I feel your pain on the delay. I just slet in a ground tent again this past weekend. The last summer I spent not sleeping in my rig was 2009! It's been a throw back for sure.

Agreed, I'm very curious as to what the hold up is. My build was slated to start July 2nd and take 2 weeks. Last I heard from Elise was that it wasn't completed yet and was waiting on something from the soft goods side (fabric town?). I fully expect it to be completed this week and for them to begin to arrange delivery or shipping. I do enjoy the fact that the term "white glover" is catching on. I'll keep the hive updated on what I hear.

Oh another note my build is coming down to the very last things. I added a pro grille this AM before work and I'm putting on a set of sliders and skids from @Mobtown Offroad tomorrow. So as long as everything goes right I should be ready and waiting for the GFC to finish this thing out.

Here's a pic of my Rig with new Grille. I went OEM Toyota, honestly for the amount of money I've already spent this year I figured why not. I can't wait to see this bad boy with a black GFC on top.

Ditto on the ground tent. Spent two nights last weekend while off roading. Not the best sleep. Then Labor Day will be traveling all throughout the upper peninsula unless I come up with a better plan that involves going westwards. Sounds like the tent life is in my future. Hopefully not for long!

Like I said mine may be special as I’m part of the smaller percentage without a taco. But seems silly to spread everything that far out when build numbers are that close.

Better Email Elise!!! Gas from AK all the way through Canada.... $250 was probably 1 1/2 fill-ups!

Not to bash, but you picked the wrong brand to bring down. Buick is top of the list. It’s above everyone in dependability for mass market brands. Just saying lol. Realize it’s a yota forum but can’t be spouting nonsense when it’s simply untrue. http://www.jdpower.com/press-releases/jd-power-2018-us-vehicle-dependability-study

As much as I hate waiting, I don’t mind as I’d rather have quality. Plus preorder is really paying off with delivery and tariffs prices locked in to a much cheaper price than consumers are now paying.

Yes, and to be honest the current pricing is still a damn good deal. Especially when you compare it to the competition the GFC is a huge value. Those of us who pre-ordered did very well, of course we did gamble with 1000's of dollars as well. It could have been mediocore, instead the GFC is better than any of us could have hoped. We got very lucky!
