My parents said the vet kept Bella overnight and would constantly run tests to try and figure things out (she had under 1,000 white blood cells when they should have at least 5,000 and normally have closer to 20,000), but the disease has no known cure so she knew she didn't have much time left. According to my parents, Bella was lively, climbing trees and attacking the TV as usual. However, my dad said the sickness suddenly hit her and took its toll. She passed away 2 days later. My parents said those 2 days were really rough and she pretty much couldn't move but they stayed by her side the whole time. The night she passed, both of my parents had a sense she was going, so they both woke up. 3 minutes later, she stopped breathing while my dad laid her in her favorite box and held her paw. My mom let my girlfriend and her mother know while I was away and they were told to keep it a secret from me until I got back (which I'm grateful for because it was better coming from my parents themselves). My girlfriend also let me know that she could barely hold it in when I told her that I really wanted to bring Bella with me when I get my apartment next year at college.

I'm not gonna lie that it's really hard for me right now cause she was my first pet that I primarily cared for on my own. Even looking at all the empty spaces in my room where her stuff used to be really gets to me. But, it somewhat eases me that I know that we gave her a great life and always played and cared for her every day. Here are two of the last pictures I took of Bella while she was laying in her usual spot in my bed.

So sorry to hear about your loss. As difficult as it is to accept, her purpose on Earth was fulfilled and our Almighty needed her elsewhere and He entrusted you with her care while she was here. She was a beautiful girl and another cat will never fill the void completely, but will fill it in it’s own way. Do get another cat, adopt a rescue, young or old, since Bella has prepared you for God’s next entrusted gift.

I definitely plan on getting more cats in the future but it's just such a hard time right now since I'm leaving for college in less than a month. Maybe in a few years or so when I am living in an apartment by myself and have some extra space and time. But for now, I'll make sure I give my other cat plenty of attention (she definitely came out of her shell and more social when we brought home Bella and they became friends)

He is much happier with temps hovering in the 90's and 100's around here. Keeps him cooler and fewer hair balls will be thrown up. Plus he was starting to get mats and tangles on his belly. He fights it so much, but likes the results.

So sorry for your loss...I had a kitten years ago the died from fip...such a ravenous terrible thing. I hope you get a new baby to ease the pain...gone but never forgotten
