It’s a new TSB to supposedly fix the surging or unresponsive acceleration.
Truck almost feels like I have the ect on full time now. Drives like it should have from the factory

Don't engage, it's honestly not worth it.

@KTJO 4x4 I always appreciate your write-ups and documentation, both here and on your build thread. I do think it's slightly inappropriate to continue recommending DB kits for anything other than stance/looks. The added 'clearance' is no more than the clearance of the tires, chopping your center cross-member is a permanent and non-reversible process, they do NOT add any more suspension articulation, they unnecessarily raise COG [i say unnecessarily because the COG displacement is not equal to the clearance displacement], and they weaken the suspension by dramatically changing where forces act upon the members.

I am not saying that LT/MT is the end-all-be-all in terms of suspension systems, but they have far fewer negatives. There is a reason that every professional IFS system uses a LT-style system instead of a DB system.

That is all I will say. I look forward to seeing how you install your kit! I see you have most of the parts coming in soon.

Yes. I do have most of my parts. Still waiting on a few. Thanks for the compliments.

I don’t believe I was recommending DB, just mentioning to those haters out there that DB Suspension Systems can do exactly what any other truck can. It’s not impossible like they claim and they aren’t just for mall crawling. That’s all. Also, when I made mention of the ground clearance, that was to the simple fact again that a DB Suspension System just did exactly what haters say they can’t do. That’s all.

As for it being permanent, you can always keep what you cut off in case you would like to go back to stock.

I have been thinking about doing this exact same thing when I add my Expedition Essentials Bedside Compressor. I’ve been thinking about installing my 12V Pump inside the cubby instead of on that metal tray on the small cubby. It’s a perfect spot, but I question the fact that it’s out in the open. Installing it inside the cubby will get it out of the open, but then I need to add more door locks and I’m not sure if I want to do that again.

Thanks. I can count on 1 hand the number of times I’ve used the 110v outlet.. But can count on multiple hands the times I wish I had more storage to throw stuff in. Worked perfect.
Purchased a used factory enclosure. Bolted right up, just had to relocate the outlet to higher up.

Since you had it out, what do you think the purpose of it only being half is?

Edit - read a little farther, see it's for the outlet you relocated

Dealer installed TRD intake and exhaust, window tint and Predator tubes.

I picked up all the lights off Amazon because I am an Amazonwhore.

    BOM:
    1x 31" is Mautotuning Cree LED 150W 10,500lm 6K bar. $60
    4x Northpole 7"Cree LED 30W 3,000lm 6K bar $30
    2x EyourLife LED harness
6x Offbrand cheesy rock lights $35
3x Mictuning Rocker switches; Zombie lights, Rear lights, and Rock Lights $10/e
1x Wolo 417 long horns 123db (For the record, I am not a big honker, but if I need to use my horn...you're going to know you deserved it.) This is more horn than most people will ever need.....unless you want to be the train horn guy...and I was tempted.
10 way blade fuse box $11
Several feet of various wiring .10, .16, .18 and .20ga. I think .10 was what I used to run from the battery to the alternate fuse box. No idea on price as I had it all on hand.
Lots of electrical connectors, solder, shrink tubing, zip ties and other odds and ends for install.

I'd have to say for the money, those Northpole 7" lights look awesome no matter where you place them. I test fit a few locations until I decided on their current location and I may have to make some angle adjustments. I think I'd like them to point 45 degrees off center and spread my light pattern out a bit. The rear set are actually mounted into existing holes and I had to slightly enlarge the holes in the arms.

The 31" bar is mounted with supplied hardware and it's quite rigid in that location without any additional support. I pulled the front grille off by undoing two screws and two of those pop out whatchamathingers after watching a Youtube. I was shocked how easy that was. I used existing factory holes or "mount points" where possible.

The rock lights are spread out underneath at random ("uneducatedly" placed) spots. These will be rearranged after seeing their output at night. I only zip tied them into place as I wasn't sure about their locations. They are mainly near or on the frame in spots where I think I am drowning the light before it spreads.

Here are some close ups of the install spots.

One member had asked me to show where I went through the firewall and I tried to show that from the cab side. Full disclosure, that's where I took a short cut. I did not push through the grommet, I opted to go next to it. (I know...I know)

Hope this helps. I want to be someone that contributes! I do what I do and if you like it I am happy to share, if you don't....well that's cool too. Happy to have constructive criticism too.

Forgot your name when I read the reply, but hopefully this helps. This is driver side, interior view. You pull back a triangle of carpet and that will expose the firewall "rubber grommet" area I pushed through. As mentioned on another reply, I was lazy and went to the side of the rubber rather than punch through it. Time will tell if that was a mistake.

Hey thanks Jeff! I just saw it and was going to post up.

How many wires did you squeeze in there? Looks like a lot. I have 4. I think the switch wires are only 20 awg though.

I need to get off my ass and get this done.

    Thanks for posting up.

There are two LED harness wire kits (3 wires each, also wrapped in sheath) and a couple of .18ga wires going through that area. Sounds like you have plenty of room for your application. It does take some serious finger strength to help open the space and I also used fiberglass fish tape. Happy to help. I love car/truck communities!

Yea, my only fear would be water penetration. Or vibrations on the wire insulation. Do you feel that will be a problem?
