I learned on a tractor when I was about 10 years old. We had Mercedes with a 4 speed column mounted shifter when I learned to drive on the road.

Is there any harm in momentarily pressing sideways on shifter while gear and moving?

Yeah. I forgot that I was coasting in third and thought I was in neutral so I tapped the shifter a couple times sideways.

That won't anything just as long as you don't push too hard and try to get reverse. You could test to see if Aisin put a reverse inhibitor in the AY-6 or not.

It's fine to move it around some. Just don't pull it towards neutral and let it sit at the gate or really try and force it. Also don't rest on it too long.

Yeah, I didn't try to jam the gear. I thought I was already in neutral but felt the vibrations of the tranny spinning through the stick and looked down and saw I was still in third gear. All is good now though.

Is anyone else experiencing a slight clutch slip on first? I can't tell if that is what is actually going on or tire slip (MT's on dry road).
When in first at a stop, accelerating about to shift into second - a bit of slip or shutter, into second no problem and very smooth. It's not all the time, just happened three times on the way to work. Any ideas or is this just normal?

My Pro with 70k Miles is finally getting some clutch slip

I have been beating the clutch to death and it won’t die

After putting my $500 deposit last night on voodoo Pro 6MT 2019 with snorkel I really was hoping I can kill this clutch

Hmmmm. Not sure if I understood what happened in the situation you described. Do your RPMs increase suddenly without and increase in vehicle speed? That would seem like slip to me.

I get this in the morning, especially when cold. Pretty sure its just clutch chatter as it doesnt slip anywhere else even during towing.

I'll pay attention on the way home... but now that you point it out I don't think I had anything like that, sounds like the below situation:

I had only been driving for about 10 minutes (work is four miles away) so it sounds like more of a chatter and seems less like a slip:bananadance:

Thank you for the replies and sanity check! I'm known for being sensitive about my vehicles so I'm sure it's nothing. She only has 16k on her so was pretty positive I'm not really using and abusing it enough to get slippage:cheers:
