Best Off-Road lights without going broke

Put a 20 inch MicTuning bar from Amazon on the ex's F150 and the light output was better than my Rigid Industries... It might not have a lifetime warranty and tough build but it was $65 vs $400 and it lights better... She's never had an issue with fogging or anything either.

 

Same, although my first order took a month due because the parts they ordered did not make quality standards as the rep told me. I thought that was good that they are very strict on quality.

The ditch lights I got have been great so far

Do you know how many lumens the MicTuning is!? I’d be curious to see a video or even make one and compare different brands!!

Don’t know about that . I think that’s just the parking lights that are on . Actually do not drive at night much anymore . I’m sure I will find out if I get pulled over

 

My bad, those looked like projectors, which we know work well, and are safer, yet federal law prohibits using non oem option lighting in headlamps... as in, unless the vehicle had an option upon delivery from the factory for leds, hids, or projectors, altering them is illegal and sometimes when people move to a state that requires inspections, the station may or may not be strict about that law. Its federal, but its almost never enforced.
The wording some manufacturers use is slick.... they say "street legal" or some other loose term. For some hid drop ins, led drop ins, projector housings.... when in reality they are not legal for use on the road.... iirc SEMA brought this up a few years ago.

 

CaliRaised is nothing but glorified Amazon junk in my opinion. Including myself, I've seen them send out harnesses with ground and power wired backwards. After a little over a year, the finish on my ditch lights is peeling and the bolts are nice and rusty.

I'll echo what every one else has said. You get what you pay for.

 

If i remember correctly it was advertised at 980 or 1080 lumens, i believe the rigid I'm running is 800 or so...

Though the new version of the Rigid Sr20 single row bar is 1100+ so maybe mine is rated higher than 800 and I'm just remembering it incorrectly

80ish bucks is more than enough for ditch lights. Just use stainless bolts if you want. Mine are fine after 6 months and work great.

 

Don't blast other drivers and you'll be fine. For projectors, I've never met a cop who cared. If anything just be like "bought it used and it came that way".

As long as you don't blind anyone or the cops especially no one cares. Lol

7 lanes of light was badass..... but squinting to see some street signs blew.

 

Well one of my buddies who just recently got a Miata was showing me this housing that has both a projector and a reflector. So normally you just use the projector with HIDs or LED or something like that. And the high beam just moves the restrictor up or down or whichever direction so that way it takes the cutoff out for maximum light.

However they come with a switch that you have to wire up and when you hit it it turns on the halogens which are in the reflectors. This gives you the higher light that you need some times that you can't do with a projector without blinding someone.

It was pretty cool but also honestly just too expensive.
