What are the specs on the boat? Hopefully it's a diesel?

 

Hi Rob, welcome back. I know it sucks going back to work, but it could be worse, right?

 

Taking Tuesday through Friday off next week...

Going to Sesame Street Place with my buddy and his wife and kid on Tuesday, coming back Thursday. Then Friday I'll be doing some yard work; finally fixing an area where we had two trees that fell during the storm and left a hole.

Didn't want to take Monday off and waste a vacation day for nothing.

 

That looks fishy. To clarify, I am talking about the boat...

 

Did you ever end up getting that shed?

 

86 tiara pursuit 2700 twin 350s straight shaft. It’s actually more fuel efficient than my 24 formula with a single i/o drove her home from the cape on Sunday

 

Naw... the people who were going to give it away (my in-laws neighbor) decided not to get a new one, so they're keeping it.

Oh well. Nothing gained and nothing lost.

Wasn't too bad. Stomach wasn't that happy earlier this morning though.

 

What sort of consumption? A buddy of mine's dad has an Albermarle in either 28 or 30 with twin diesels that gets something like 10-12gph at 25-30mph. In flat seas, obviously.

Edit- I've been out with them a few times, but I'd rather have my little runabout. I like exploring random small lakes more than cruising the open ocean, at least with a powerboat. Sailing ocean water is a ton of fun, but it's a totally different experience.

 

I was probably at 9gph at 24knots in 3’ seas coming home from the cape Sunday. I haven’t driven her enough to find the sweet spot yet. Sunday i was just babying her till i made it to my own port.

 

A little more throttle up to just until the secondarys kick in and I’d probably get a little better of a distance per gal but I’ll find that out soon

 

What's her top speed like? Around 35, probably?

 

Not sure I haven’t opened the 4barrels yet depending on how healthy the top end of the of the motors are i could see 35-40

 

I’m hoping to repower with multiport injected in a few years that should give about 100hp per motor and I know a similar hull cruises at 30knots and 12gph with those new motors. They are alot more efficient

 

This winter I’ll be rewiring the custom rats nest from the previous owner.

 

@mach1man001 is this something you’d be able to get??

Always fun, cleaning up after somebody who thinks they can do wiring.

 

Marine wiring is an absolute nightmare. Maybe easier on a bigger boat, but my small boats it's insane the amount of wiring. I just redid my 14' Starcraft, I think there is more wire under the console alone than an entire car. That boat doesn't have power trim or anything but there are 12 wires attached to the ignition switch. 12!! Hot, negative, prime, ignition, 3 accessory hot, 3 cold and 2 for the magneto kill circuit.
