Best way to answer that question is to blast off the rust and see how deep it goes. Media blasting is the quickest, but you could use a sander or grinder.
It may just be surface crap.

I'm looking for which wires in the HVAC panel are for illumination on a 2013 TRD OR. I'm wanting to draw from there to a LED Strip to light up the cup holder cubby area when the Head lights are on.

Thanks, I had forgotten about that that thread. I will look to see if they are the same on 2012 and on. Should be easy enough to poke around for power at those pins.

thanks for the input on the spindles, I wasn't familiar with the Camburg or CST spindles. Which ones do you think are the best, as far as quality?
I know the maxtracs are very robust but have no experience with them. Im going to be buying a set very soon and want to get the best I can.

If you are marring you aren't using enough lube and or using to much pressure. Make sure you spray the clay bar too. No circles with clay bars either. You may have to polish to remove the marring.

 

Sweet fuck those are expensive compared to maxtrac's. Probably why no one buys them and why I've never heard of them.

 

Do what SilverJack said: my version: cut them off with a cut off wheel, grind the material down. If there is enough good material left under all that rust, which i bet there is. Weld the new shock mount on. If it was rusted through the whole rear end would twist and break with all the torque from the gears, axles, and drive shaft moving.

 

Yeah I do know I was pressing too hard and I was intentionally only because those yellow spots were not coming out at all with light pressure so didnt have much of a choice. It's not too much marring, but yea polishing will be needed to remove it :/. I was spraying the clay bar too, it was definately a first time experience and I think it came out good. Just unfortunately had to press a little harder than i should. Wonder if i clay bar it again in a couple months if it will remove the marring.

 

Ordered Dakar leafs, bushings, U-bolts, brake lines F/R, and CB drop today. Happy now? Cuz I'm pumped to finally get this thing wrapped up.

According to the flyeyez install instructions for my '14 it's the green and green/white in the smaller black connector on the right.

 

The only way to get rid of paint marring is to polish it out.
