Let’s just say that I had to sign a confidentiality agreement, and leave it at that

I’m well aware of that, being a twenty year veteran of manual transmissions, that’s why they have the dead pedal

After reading through all of this, I think you’re trolling. I’m not the only one. You’re too new and nonchalant about this. Plus you have OR rims on a brand new Sport.

If this is your 4th Tacoma then you know how dealerships work and you wouldn’t be on here asking questions and posting short vague comments.

Toyota isn’t going to deny a bad clutch at 250 miles on a brand new truck, but they did on yours for some reason.

So they denied your claim and made you pay for it and made you sign a “confidentiality” agreement? Why in the hell would you do that?

If I’m wrong, then I’ll say sorry this happened, but you should have got a lawyer.

You’re entitled to your opinions, that’s what’s great about discussions. As for the rims, yeah they are or rims, the sport rims look like shit, and that’s my opinion. I kept my old rims with Generals on them, rather than the stock tires.
As for denying the warranty; I was shocked, to say the least. As for the confidentiality, use your imagination on that one as to why that might be needed. So I guess I’ll accept that apology from you, thanks

So did Toyota refuse to fix it, and then on top of that send out the commando squad to slap a gag order on you? Lol.

my clutch was starting to slip around 50K miles so I went with the URD clutch, but that was mainly from towing, ive towed cars and boats many times now with my truck and sometimes trying to get up hills with a trailer behind was too much for the stock clutch

How does it feel compared to stock? Pretty much the same or more stiff?

it was a little more stiff at first but after about 100 miles it goes back to stock effort, just much more linear and the grab point is way more defined. It also grabs a LOT harder so its way easier to hoon it

Don't be stupid, he wouldn't have signed a confidentiality agreement without having a reason to agree to it, they obviously ended up fixing it and/or throwing some money at him.

I’d watch the name calling. We are just basing our comments off of what the OP said. Plus, joking is allowed on this forum. Have a good day or you can continue to make yourself look like you are instigating.

I didn't say you ARE stupid, I said don't BE stupid. Yours could definitely be construed as slightly joke-ish, but the other guy outright called him a troll and said he should have gotten a lawyer.

You have a good day too :)

Clutches don't go at 250 miles unless either you did something wrong or there was a defect. The only thing that makes sense with your "confidentiality agreement" is that you screwed it up and they fixed it for free, but don't want you talking about it.

As the first response to this thread states -
I guess there is another option, you could be making the story up. So what is it?

Did not, opted to keep it in there and so far it hasn't been an issue. It seems the issue was the progressive factory clutch springs, the URD ones are much larger and beefier, as well as being single spring rate

Who the fuck pays for the work that was denied and then signs a confidentiality agreement? There's no imagination here. You're being vague because this story is bullshit or you're a colossal idiot who paid to sign away your right to talk about a problem.

I'm not saying the clutch was your fault because I spent a few years as a dealership tech who got all the freak problems before I called corporate engineering and sometimes, things appear fine but are just marginal to survive a short period. In all those incidents, there were some really horrifying problems and even in those, where life was literally on the line for some, there was still no confidentiality agreement. It's just not something you do to a customer who is already pissed off that their new car has issues that has kept it at the dealership for two weeks.
