    Hello fellow Taco lovers.

I am preparing to install a toytec BOSS 0-3" lift on my 1997 ext cab 4x4 and I am curious to get your opinion on tire size for this setup. I currently have 31x10.5" BFG KO. I am wondering, with the three inch lift and totally stock drive train if I could run the BFG KO2 in a 33x10.5". I certainly want to increase my tire size to fit the new lift and off road performance however I am concerned about the 33" diameter with regards to rubbing and extra wear on the drive train. Any experience or advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank You

You'll be perfectly fine with 33x10.50. at most you might have to do the pinch weld "mod". I Ru. That size ko2s on my 97 with just a spacer lift

You should be good like Vern said with modding the pinch weld. What gearing do you have? If you have at least 4.10 you should be ok with the 3.4 motor

Power and mileage will suffer a little, much better than an auto on 33's though

I’m auto on 32’s. I feel like my truck would benefit greatly from a regear

Auto's are much worse, as soon as i put 285s on my old truck ( auto, 3.4) it was unbearable to drive anywhere that wasn't flat. Plus I live close to 7k elevation and it's allot of big hills. I did 4.88s and it almost went back to feeling stock power and my mpg went back up to 18 from 14

Yeah, 4.88s are on my list for probably next year. How much did the re gear cost?

that's different then, maybe post a pic of the 1st Gen instead of the turd? :)

also you're at 11.5 wide on the 295. OP at 10.5 would fit even better me thinks

Didn’t even notice that this was 1st gen forum.
    Just read the narrative .
The 295 rocks on both. But once again both are at 4:88 .
I’ll leave you all to your 1st gen box. But :) if you ever step out of it ......

    I don't think there is a 33x10.5" KO2 (though there's likely a close metric equivalent).

At any rate, this should help explain what you'll be up against, and where you may need to do bashing or trimming. Note that wheels will make as much difference as tire size, right around 33", since you'll be in/out of the wheel well more/less.
