Looking for radiator brace (front body mount) bushing from Energy Suspension bushing kit.

I was reading through a lot of threads on this topic and I installed the universal bushing kit (

$28 9.4101G UNIVERSAL MOUNT

9.4101G). The kit makes the front end sit up about 1/4" higher than before. Not a big deal but I wanted to try out the front rad mount bushings that came with the body mount kit (8.4109). If anyone has these bushing left over from an install, would you sell them to me? I have called Energy Suspension and even though they are down the street from me, they won't sell me just the front bushings. I believe I will need washer, bushing, sleeve, bushing and washer on each side.

Is the 1/4in higher causing body alignment issues? Been tempted to do just my front rad support with the

From all the threads I have read there is a debate about this and the general consensus is to use the bigger puck on top for 1) more support and 2) closer to OEM height. I am not having any alignment issues other than having to turn in the rubber hood supports a turn and a half, but YMMV. If I inspect the lines closely then I can see that the hood sits a little lower and the gaps by the doors are *slightly* off. No issues with functionality whatsoever. I have not tried to use the smaller puck on top. I would say that I am happy with the bushings compared to what I took out.

 

Im wondering if you could do the smaller puck up top and space it to the proper height with an extra washer. I have a feeling the loud metalic pop i hear every now and then is from those rad bushings.

 

Yea, I had the same thing after my lift. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Haven't heard it since I installed the bushings.

I thought about flipping the puck but the way the frame mount is designed, there is a lip and concavity in the frame mount (looking down) that appears to fit the bigger puck better. Flipping it would have the lip digging into the bigger puck. One reason why I want to get my hands on the other kit is to try all three, take measurements and report back so the next person can decide without having to try all three options.

 

Gotcha makes sense. Let us know what you find. Id rather not have to purchase a whole tacoma specific body mount kit for just the two front mounts that are a proper perfect fit.

 

Been doing some research and it looks like the kit that comes with the body mount bushings are similar in size but they are softer and smaller. I think this compresses them a bit more getting you closer to stock ride height.

Also, most people with aftermarket bumpers and/or looking for the most body clearance have gone with the universal bushing, using the bigger puck on top.
