Having trouble routing a 1/0 power cable through the firewall of my 2015 tacoma (No flat places that I can get a drill into). I was thinking of possibly passing it through the floor under the center console.

Any suggestions? I don't really want to cut up the factory wire harness boot in the firewall.

    Cheers.

Factory boot is going to be the best option for 1/0. Just slice an X in it with a fresh razor blade and push it right on through. Then take some strip caulk and seal everything up

What amps are you running that you need 1/0 ? The length of wire into the back of the cab is pretty short.

ah, compressor.... those amps would be fine with 8 gauge over that short distance.
which side of the firewall you trying to go through?

I was trying to get through on the driver side. I have a special waterproof firewall passthrough for 1/0 gauge, but there's not many good places to drill. There's a flat spot just above and to the left of the factory boot, but I think the parking brake bolts up right behind it.

I was thinking about running the wire under the truck and passing it through somewhere back there, but I'm taking my time to find a good spot to bring it in. The other hard part is getting a drill into the place I want to pass the wire.

I hear you. The vent in the back of the cab, behind the passenger side seat could be a spot to add it and run it in... no drilling.

Yeah actually my pickup doesn't have any vents in the rear wall for some reason. I was thinking of drilling into the storage bin under the seat and passing through there, but I haven't spent enough time to see if I can get around the gas tank under the pickup etc.
