I was looking for a 2018 SR5 and had to settle for a 2017 because none were to be found.

The Audi I saw looked nice, I'm used to seeing the color on Toyota trucks, and thought Toyota had influenced Audi to offer the color.

I'm waiting to see a Calvary blue SR-5.

This is the shit that worries me.. I went through this shit, 4 months to get my MGM TRD OR 6MT w/ Prem/tech and it was kind of by accident as one got delivered to a dealer and happened to find it as it hit the system and I was the first one to grab it.

I find out this week if it's totaled due to an accident a couple of weeks ago. The rental policy is only good for 30 days... I doubt i'll be able to find an 18 model in the same trim within 30 days. If I can't find one I have decided to go with an Accord 2.0T Sport

The 4Runner will probably look good. When I searched Voodoo blue, I got manicpanic in that color, and a local to me band.

I was thinking of that very scenario today, 30 days of rental sucks for getting a replacement manual Tacoma. I would probably try to work out a long term rental for cheap with the Toyota Dealer.

Currently there are 879 2018 MT Toyota Tacomas for sale in the USA (NEW). If you want TRD OR MT, that is 318 vehicles. If you want MGM on top of that, that is 95 vehicles. If a person really wanted to purchase the combo as stated, they can buy a one way plane ticket, and really get one.

Or find a dealership with some weight. They can move one from another dealership easy. I bet by the time Toyota has all 3 factories building Tacomas, the days of not getting what you want within 2-3 days will be over.

Probably not many of those 95 also have Premium and Tech, but you are correct that a plane ticket would get you to 1 of them.

    Agree 100%

One has to do their own legwork. If I relied on my local 5 dealers back in 2015, I would have never gotten my 6MT 16 OR, or my 17 PRO 6MT. I did my own research, and then looked at dealers in other areas where they had the allocations.

When I walked in to my local dealer (they weren't interested in getting another allocation), and thus didn't get the business. Thus the dealer that went to work for me, got 3 tacoma sales from me in 3 years, and now going to get the 19 PRO, thats 4 sales.

Yup 4 of the 95 has that exact combo. 3 on east coast, 1 on west coast. :)

How do you know this? and how many of these have the premium and tech?

Maybe they're a bit easier to get now? When I got mine it was Jan 2017 and started my search in October 2016.

I purchase/lease my car through a broker. He finds and works out a deal and presents it to me. Then I take delivery of the truck... I have limited knowledge, but he's got access to a database that the public don't have access to save for a few dealers that make their inventory invisible.

Then you should be talking to your special broker, and not to me.

My advice is search every day, sometimes 3 times a day for the truck you want. As soon as you find the one you want drop everything you're doing and go get it because chances are someone else is looking for it too. Especially the way Tacoma's have been selling lately. Hell, I found mine late on Friday night while I was watching a baseball game just fooling around online looking at Tacoma's. Called them Saturday and made them give me a price over the phone, went and got it that morning. Glad I did too because I haven't seen one in the color and package I wanted since and that's been 3 months ago.

Not so sure about that with Manuals, the way the Dealer explained it to me when I ordered was they only build them once every 3 months and build enough for the supply chain, so depending when you order will dictate how long you have to wait. I am doubting that the extra plant in Mexico is going to build any Manuals.
