makes sense for the emissions, I don't think the ecu runs any of the gauges in a 97 or maybe the speedo.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
In mine the cluster speedo is also the VSS and I wasn't sure if the tach squarewave is generated by the ECU or taken right from the crank.

You can look up the harnesses on the URD website. They have a chart on there that tells you which one you need.

It is a little hard to read for sure, especially in the earlier models. I had to put a ruler on my screen to make sure I was getting the right one. Lol

Regarding the 3.4L variant, has anyone tried to utilize the factory driver side manifold and fab the crossover and pass side manifold instead of the going the CX Racing kit? It seems like most tend to be satisfied with the eBay parts, but I felt it was worth asking.

Unless the piping is getting in the way of something, there's no need to fix what ain't broke. If you were looking to get ideas for your own setup, check out @Torspd and his build. He did a fun crossover deal and is gonna have one hell of a big turbo too. If anything, it is pure motor pron.

100 pages since I last stopped in. Still wondering how the 2.7 2tr low boost applications are going?

I mostly tinker with turbo Subaru's and Miatas, but this truck kinda fell in my lap. As most of us can attest, I can't leave anything alone regardless so I'm pretty sure at some point I'll take the dive into a turbo. I've also got a small car part business so I'm always looking for an opportunity to get new useful products out there or make an existing mediocre product much more satisfying.

I hadn't looked Torspd's build yet tbh. EFR FTW!

It ain't blown up, so that's a positive thing, right?
Currently on 5psi spring and going strong. Go to the beach about every weekend, and have been beating on it a little more consistently. Doing some small maintenance (non-turbo related) recently, but overall everything has been rock solid without any issues!
