@barney7 and everyone else who "bitches" about their shity auto transmissions in their 3rd gens. Get that p.o.s. into the dealer and "bitch" about it there. Have the service person write down and enter into the system each and every issue you are having with it. When they can't find any issues with it because it "is performing how is was engineered and manufactured" ask the service department to contact Toyota USA and have them start a claim for technical assistance (or whatever they call it) and that gets your vin into that system. Eventually Toyota will do something about this powertrain issue - like they did with the frame issues.

They bought mine back-gave me every penny I had into it. And they agreed to do it within three weeks of hiring an attorney - which Toyota paid.

So don't "bitch" on this forum, too many defensive fan boys here.

They already are doing something. They keep releasing trans updates. Like within the last few weeks. I don't think its "defensive fanboys" so much as not everyone thinks the transmission is a problem, yet we constantly hear from the same handful of people of shitty it is. It gets old.

A tsb will not fix this issue. Just like a tsb cant fix a rotting frame issue.

But it did. And they were more than fair on frame replacements. Just because they didn't get it done at your speed doesn't mean they aren't listening. I agree, take it to corp and the dealer. They are the ones that need to know.

Oooooo got me. I'm happy with my purchase so I'm a fan boy. Me and the 500k+ 3G owners huh?
You wouldn't know if it did cause you dumped your truck so long story short, you don't know what you're talking about. Toyota Tacomas don't equate to just Joes experience. Move on with your life man.

until you own a triumph spitfire, you really dont know what a piece of shit is.
for every hour i drove that car, i could expect to work on it for 1 hour.
i never had a vehicle where everything was unreliable and failed.
on the other hand it was one of the most fun cars to drive while it did run.
after i ditched that car for a toyota carolla, it took me years before i was confident
enough to leave the tool box home. i understand the mixed feeling of the tacoma.
i did eventually get used to the odd shifting. the last tsb fixed that problem for me.
this is how it should have left the factory years ago. no more going into 6th gear at 30mph
on a slight incline. it now stays mostly in 3rd and sometimes 4th gear going up same incline.

Long story short, Toyota got it right with this 2 latest TSB as myself and many others have experienced.

No need to argue about it until you give it a try.
