I have driven an hour and 10 minutes with 17 pallets in the back, I was averaging 9.5 km/100 litres, it’s now around 11.1/100 litres. But that could change over the next few months as it re learns my driving habits etc.

So TSB 62-18 is the latest? From all the TSB ECU updates I have had I was always told that the newest ECU update had every change from the prior ECU versions. From what a few have said there are two ECU TSBs that need to be done? High altitude and WOT surge?

I am in Utah so if I need to get the high altitude along with the WOT surge im sure ill have no problem getting them both.....

WOT is the high altitude. The 40-50 mph surge is the other one.

Same MPGs like before the update. Is much faster and responsive on throttle push. Feels like ECT a lot.

Just did 0077-16 and 0062-18 today. Went out for a short test drive afterwards and my work commute is 10 miles round trip so its not too far but it does seem to noticeably feel different already so im happy with it.

This are my exact thoughts, although I feel the throttle curve and WOT is better than old ECT. Best part though, is that it doesn't have ECT's elevated shifting points so you save gas mostly in city driving since ECT on and Off in highway are the same in my testing.

    With a 7.7 0-60 I don't think so. Your about 0.7 too slow.

    Even in 1/4 you lose.

Update: I got my truck back from the dealership today as it was in to get a clear coat and tint. I had service take a look into updating 0062-18.

They said they could not replicate the issue, but also said they believe my truck was built after the update. I ordered and received my truck about three weeks ago.

I am hoping they are being truthful about this...is there any way to check my VIN vs the TSB date? I still feel like the AT shifts so early and seems to be "searching" for a gear a lot. Perhaps its just because I only have 500 miles and the ECU is still learning my drive patterns...

They do not have to replicate it if you don't want them to. The update came out July 17th, about 2 weeks ago, a few days after you got your truck. I would take it back and get a print out of service preformed. tsb0062-18 or (eg1181)

Is it possible they were updating new production Tacoma’s prior to the TSB release date?

Tell them you just got back from and are headed back to whatever high elevation area you feel like telling them and it has to get done because it is dangerous to not have full-time predictability of your vehicles handling. So do not allow them to try to replicate it. Let them know the problem is known to occur on hot days as well as high altitude.

Update for Canadians: There is a TSB for 2016-2017 trucks specifically for Canadian market, called T-TCI-5133. Please read the pdf. (2018 no TSB)

STRANGE!! have a 2017 TRD 4x4 sport, bought november 29 (made in baja) just did my 20K service and had them do the T-SB-0062-18 because my truck is within the vin verifactions! Thay did the up date, but turnes out it was the T-SB-0077-16! thought my truck all ready had that update! Tec said to drive a few fee weeks and let them know how things are going. I Will say i have the shift sense pro to make up for the deficiency, probably for about 6 months now , and has done well! There is a big improvement so far with T-SB-007-16, and if TSB-0062-18 should be great! will wait until my final 2 year 25K service and have them up date to the new T-SB-0062-18!
