For all the tubers out there they're starting to let water out of Lake Nocatchema.

Quick into - Live in Ventura, moved here from TX 2 years ago. Just bought a 17 DCSB TRDOR 4wd. Traded in a Jeep that I lifted, bumpers, winch, sliders, etc and wheeled in SW Colorado a fair amount.

Plan for the Taco is probably a camper shell, maybe a 5100/887/AAL and some 265/75/16 KO2's or Duratracs. Plan on keeping this one tame compared to the jeep. Something to camp with the fam and not replace things that I break wheeling! Plus, I commute to the high desert 2 days a week for work so I'm really enjoying the drastic increase in MPG!

Last weekend I camped up at Pinos and drove the Mt Pinos dirt road down and back up after hitting a locked gate. Looking forward to getting out and exploring more of these local backroads and stuff. Any info is appreciated!

Sounds like a solid plan.... As I'm sure you know from building the Jeep, it turns into a slippery slope with mods. Keep it simple and functional.

Some good camping/trails out In Gorman area. Not too far away from Mt Pinos where you were.
Out in Santa Barbara area. West Camino Ceilo - fun little fire road day run.
Ojai/Rose Valley has some good camping up in the hills
Little bit of a drive but Big Bear has tons of trails/camping.

Don't forget about camping and trails in Ballinger Canyon just over the mountains, north of Ojai, off of HWY 33.

Negative. Trust me I wish I had it fixed. Maybe I'll tackle it one day. Got some confidence from replacing the tie-rods and just recently getting the drivers side cam tabs welded on by TV.

Which is why i was hoping you had already tackled the horn issue so that I won't have to go through the trouble shooting myself :anonymous:

Thanks for the info. I have camped up at Rose Valley and like that area a lot. I climb up that way sometimes too. Need to make a trip up to Big Bear for sure!

Haha. It might happen one day if I can get over the fear of setting off the airbag to replace the spiral cable. I could save another couple hundred bucks...but it's probably a good thing I don't have a horn, I see so many idiots and well, it makes me more patient not having one!

lmao! yeah, getting knocked out by your own truck would be hilarious!

I'm the same. I've been getting used to just yelling out the window. In bad cases I just flip on the PA.

Anybody in here work at Ridgecrest Hospital? I've seen a nice lifted cement TRDOR in the parking lot there a few times when I've been there for work.
