Hey Phillip, I went to my first poisonous caterpillar bite in the 23 years I've been doing this today.

Had to google that on the way to the call because I'd never heard of that in this area or any for that matter. Apparently he was bitten by a puss caterpillar.

Yes, I had to laugh when he showed me that on his phone too.

 

This I gotta Google.

 

Apparently they are around more in the late summer and fall down here. Never seen one before.

 

I still to this day get tickled from the calls "I got bit by a scorpion, do I need to come into the ER?" I've even had one call me a liar when I told them we don't have poisonous scorpions in Al

I really like the wrecks where they all swerved to miss a deer. But, it's plain as day when the road curved they didn't. Damn sure won't admit they were on their phone. lmao

Had one admit he was on his way to the pain clinic to get more meds because he ran out 2 days ago.

 

Yeah, his bite didn't look like that but the caterpillar matched the photo. Looked more like a bee sting but it was red in a oval like that. Maybe the caterpillar just dicked him?

 

I don't understand that. It's not like your insurance cares. You're still getting charged for it

 

How long is that catapillar's gestation? 4 days? Guess he'll find out

 

The guy I share a weld booth with on 2nd shift is from the cheese state. Moved out here for work. Has some marine buddies he was visiting in Maine. Apparently there's a brown moth that's poisonous and I got to come in early because he went stage 5 sloth from goonies on the side of his neck and face. Poor guy.

 

Just spent 2 hours looking around the whole weld shop for a fixture point. Management had a meeting last week on how to keep welders in booth longer.

30 years ago the floor told them to buy more endpoints. I bet they're getting close to a solution....


Anyone else's work like that? Or the better qusquest is why is everywhere we work like this?

 

It seems that a lot of companies let people make decisions when they have no clue how it will really work for the "workers"

Same money, more work. I’m in a state union job that’s focused on technology use as an alternative to incarceration so we’ll be good for a few years.
