Story time.

I don't know if you guys like trucks, but about a month and a half ago, I am out in the yard and I get a call over the radio to come in the office. There is a man in office talking to the girl at the front desk. I introduce myself, he then tells me that he is wondering if he can buy 12 tons of rock, the cheapest stuff possible, have me load it into 3 trailers (4 tons in each trailer) and then return the rock about a week later. I am perplexed by this, so I just ask the fellow what he is trying to do. He tells me he runs a website that writes stories on trucks. They are testing the 2018 1 ton Dodge, Chevy and Ford to determine which is best. He has 3 identical goose-neck trailers, he wants me to fill each of them with exactly 4 tons of rock. They planned to drive the vehicles to Kingman or something and test them, and then he is going to write a story. Guy shows me his website. Seems legit. I tell him I will give him 12 tons of junk rock and he can do whatever he wants with it, and then bring it back when he is done, no charge. Seems like a nice guy, and I just sell the stuff to people to fill pools.

About a week later he shows up with the trucks, all brand new. Pretty cool. We actually had a long conversation about why I only drove Fords (I bought my Tacoma after this btw). I loaded all 3 trucks while they took pictures and prepped everything. It looked like he probably took 1,000 photos of each truck, and they left. About a week later he came back, each truck dumped, we talked about the tests they ran and how much fun they had. He told me the story would be out in July, thanked me and left. I completely forgot about this whole thing, until this morning. I found the guy's business card and checked the site and it looks like the story came out the other day. Just thought I would share it in case anyone was interested.

Have had a real stressful 3 weeks due to some shit in my personal life. Taking off to go fish for a few days in California. Have a long drive ahead, but can’t wait to get up that way.

Prob staying there until Sunday, then have to hit my Aunt’s place in Granite Bay to pick something up to bring home, will prob go through Vegas on way home.
