Tire size

hey tacoheads..I have 285/70/17 on 17x9 wheels on my 2006 tacoma. I am looking at possibly getting 265/70/17 tires. but I dont know if the look will change in width. does anyone know what changes look wise will I have if I switch tires?

I would keep the 285s they look better in my honest opinion

 

Thanks for the input. i goofed. I currently have 33/12.5/17. with 3' lift. Im not sure if that equals a 285 or higher, 12.5 equals what?. I dont want to lose width nor height so yes I agree stay away from the 265. the search continues.

 

can you break it down 4 me?..Math not my best. what does 33/12.5/70 equal in mm?.

I wouldn't put the 265/70/17's on a 17x9" wheel. It'll look stretched. They can look good though on a wheel with 4.5" bs.

pretty equal to a 33x12.50x17 is a 305/65/17.
